Massive Free Health Check-up Camp Held in Kothia, Darbhanga; Hundreds Benefit
Darbhanga (Bihar): Once again, an excellent example of humanitarian service was witnessed in Darbhanga as leading figures in social work and public welfare came together. Under the joint aegis of the Maa Ahilya Mithila Association and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Medical Cell, a massive 'Free Health Check-up Camp and Medicine Distribution Program' was organized on Sunday at the historic Shri Ram Janaki Temple premises in Kothia.
The primary objective of this health camp was to provide medical facilities to people in rural and economically weaker sections who are often unable to reach major hospitals due to their remote locations.
Grand Inauguration and Objective of the Camp
The program was formally inaugurated by local dignitaries and senior BJP officials through the lighting of a ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, speakers emphasized that "a healthy society is the foundation of a strong nation." This initiative by the Maa Ahilya Mithila Association was highly appreciated in the region. Representatives of the association stated that spreading health awareness and providing timely treatment to the people of Mithilanchal is their top priority.
Key Highlights of the Health Camp
A large crowd of patients gathered at the camp from early morning. Hundreds of people from Kothia and dozens of surrounding villages availed the benefits of this camp. The main highlights were as follows:
Team of Specialist Doctors: Specialist doctors from various fields were present at the camp, examining patients and providing medical advice. The team primarily included experts in general medicine, ophthalmology (eye care), dentistry, and pediatrics.
Free Diagnostics: Free arrangements were made for blood sugar (blood glucose), blood pressure (BP), and general health check-ups. Modern equipment was utilized for these screenings.
Free Distribution of Medicines: Following the consultations, medicines prescribed by the doctors were provided to the patients on the spot, free of cost. This provided immense relief to poor families who otherwise struggle with the expenses of medication.
Consultation and Awareness: Beyond just treatment, doctors explained the importance of preventive measures against seasonal diseases, the benefits of a balanced diet, and the necessity of hygiene in detail.
Active Role of the BJP Medical Cell
The role of the BJP Medical Cell in the success of this camp was highly commendable. Members of the cell ensured that patients faced no inconvenience during the entire process, from registration to doctor consultation and the distribution of medicines. The convener of the cell stated that the organizationâs goal is to continuously organize such camps so that health services can reach the last person in society.
Gratitude from Representatives and Locals
The program held at the Shri Ram Janaki Temple complex created a joyful atmosphere among the local residents. A resident of Kothia village, who underwent a check-up, remarked, "Getting such high-quality medical facilities right near our village is nothing less than a blessing for us. Such initiatives should happen regularly."
The organizers expressed their gratitude to the temple committee for providing the premises for such a noble cause.
Awareness Towards Health: A Necessity
During the camp, experts shared some important advice that is vital for the general public:
Regular Check-ups: Every individual over the age of 40 should undergo a complete body check-up at least twice a year.
Lifestyle Changes: Improving dietary habits and exercising daily can keep diseases at bay.
Do Not Ignore Symptoms: People often ignore minor ailments, which can later turn into serious conditions. Always consult a doctor at the first sign of any symptom.
The event organized by the Maa Ahilya Mithila Association and the BJP Medical Cell in Kothia, Darbhanga, was not just a medical program but also a symbol of social solidarity. Such events not only provide treatment to the sick but also reassure the needy that society stands with them.
