Strict Instructions for Swift Disposal of Pending Cases

Gopalganj: A comprehensive review meeting regarding the schemes of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department was held on Monday at the auditorium of the District Collectorate. Chaired by District Magistrate (DM) Samir Saurabh, the meeting focused on evaluating revenue operations across various zones of the district, the resolution of land disputes, and the quality of revenue services. During the meeting, the DM issued strict instructions to officials to ensure the disposal of all pending cases in a time-bound manner.

Emphasis on Transparency and Swift Disposal

Addressing the meeting, DM Samir Saurabh stated that revenue and land-related matters are directly linked to the lives of the common people. He directed officials to ensure that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to government offices, emphasizing that bringing transparency and speed to the work process is mandatory.

The DM specifically reviewed pending applications for mutation (Dakhil-Kharij), land record corrections (Parimarjan), and land measurements. He instructed all Circle Officers (COs) to conduct physical verifications of all 'pending' applications and resolve them promptly. He asserted that any negligence or unnecessary delay in revenue services would not be tolerated.

'Special Vigilance' for Land Dispute Resolution

Land disputes often lead to law-and-order issues in Gopalganj. Taking this seriously, the DM instructed all Circle Officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) to work in coordination. He emphasized that the 'Janata Darbar' (public court) meetings held every Saturday at police stations and circle offices must be conducted with the utmost seriousness. Officials were directed to identify disputed lands and keep records updated to prevent future complications.

The DM also made it clear that the campaign to remove encroachments from government land must continue without interruption. Officials were advised to act strictly according to the law and not succumb to any pressure while clearing public land of encroachments.

Review of Digital Services

The meeting also covered the status of online services provided by the Revenue Department. The DM instructed that complaints received on the official portal must be resolved within the stipulated time. He directed revenue staff to conduct field visits to understand ground realities and immediately rectify any discrepancies found in online records.

Stern Warning to Officials

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), all Circle Officers of the district, and the heads of the revenue branch. The DM warned that if the pace of revenue work is found to be slow in any circle, or if applications under the Right to Public Services Act (RTPS) are not disposed of within the fixed timeframe, the concerned officials will be held accountable and disciplinary action will be taken.

Concluding the meeting, the DM also directed that targets for revenue collection be met on time so that the district's development work continues without hindrance. Finally, he advised all officials to work with sensitivity and dedication in the public interest.
