Young Scientists Display Their Skills in Science Exhibition, Models of Future Innovative Technologies Captivate Everyone
Hindustan Representative (Block Region): With the objective of promoting scientific thinking, innovation, and creativity, a grand science exhibition-cum-selection competition was organized on Friday under the 'Inspire Award MANAK Scheme' at the prestigious High School Kazhiya in the block region. Organized under the joint auspices of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), students from several schools in the region participated with immense enthusiasm in this program. The remarkable science models created by the children proved that there is no scarcity of scientific talent among children from rural areas.
Formal Inauguration of the Program with Lamp Lighting
The science festival, held on Friday morning on the premises of High School Kazhiya, commenced with the joint lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guests, the school headmaster, science teachers, and the panel of judges. Following this, the school students presented a welcome song to greet the arriving guests and members of the jury.
In his welcome address, the headmaster of the school stated that the Inspire Award scheme is an ambitious initiative by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Science aimed at nurturing the scientific talent hidden within school children. He noted that today's children are tomorrow's scientists, and such competitions foster logical thinking and problem-solving abilities among youngsters.
Young Scientists' Models Catch Everyone's Attention
During the exhibition, children from High School Kazhiya and other surrounding schools used their imagination and scientific principles to present highly attractive and useful models. Teachers, parents, and members of the jury who arrived to inspect these models, displayed across the exhibition hall, were astonished by the students' talent. Models based on the following primary themes became the center of attraction:
Environmental Conservation and Green Energy: Children presented models such as solar-powered irrigation equipment, windmills, and generating electricity from waste, delivering a strong message about saving the environment.
Water Harvesting and Management: The technique of conserving rainwater and purifying it for daily use was explained very simply through small models.
Smart Agriculture Technology: Prototypes of automatic water pumps for farmers' convenience, sensor-based devices for guarding fields, and modern crop-harvesting equipment were showcased.
Safety and Disaster Management: Students also built models of smart traffic signal systems to prevent road accidents and early-warning devices for earthquakes.
The Jury's Keen Eye and Student Presentations
Every student participating in the exhibition was given the opportunity to explain their model in detail. Science subject expert teachers on the jury visited each student to ask questions about the principles behind their projects, manufacturing costs, and practical applications.
The students explained the features of their models with great confidence and technical terminology. The judges stated that the selection process for the children is being conducted with complete transparency so that models with the best and most original ideas can be forwarded to the district or state level.
Tremendous Enthusiasm Among Children
A distinct glow and confidence were visible on the faces of the participating students. Participants shared that such events not only provide them with a platform to showcase their craft but also offer an opportunity to learn a lot from students of other schools. Teachers left no stone unturned in guiding the children and inspired them to advance in the field of science.
Closing Ceremony and Future Inspiration
At the conclusion of the program, the names of the students who performed best were announced, and they were honored with certificates of appreciation and medals. Additionally, the selected outstanding models were nominated for upcoming higher-level competitions.
The Inspire Award program hosted at High School Kazhiya was not only successful in boosting children's interest in science but also demonstrated that given the right guidance and platform, our village children possess the full potential to bring glory to the nation. The program concluded with the national anthem.
