Vigilance Team Takes Major Action, Makhdumpur Circle Amin Arrested While Accepting ₹5,000 Bribe
Jehanabad: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau Patna team has taken major action against corruption by arresting an Amin working at the Makhdumpur Circle Office in Jehanabad district while allegedly accepting a bribe. The Amin was accused of demanding ₹5,000 from a person in exchange for conducting a land measurement. The Vigilance team caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe amount on Wednesday, July 8.
After the action, there was panic among employees at the Circle Office. The Vigilance team took the accused Amin into custody and started further legal proceedings. Officials said that no negligence will be tolerated in corruption-related cases and strict action will continue against those involved.
Bribe Allegedly Demanded for Land Measurement
According to information, the matter is related to the Makhdumpur Circle area. The complainant had been visiting the Circle Office for a long time to get his land measured. He had submitted an application for completion of land-related work.
The complainant alleged that the Amin was repeatedly delaying the land measurement process. Despite several visits to the office, the work was not completed. It is alleged that the Amin demanded ₹5,000 as a bribe for carrying out the land measurement.
Instead of paying the bribe, the complainant approached the Vigilance Investigation Bureau Patna and lodged a complaint. After receiving the complaint, the Vigilance Department conducted an inquiry and planned the operation after verifying the allegations.
Land Measurement Not Done Even After Three Dates
The complainant said that he had been facing difficulties for a long time regarding land measurement. The Circle Office had reportedly given him several dates, but the measurement was not conducted on the scheduled dates.
It was reported that even after three scheduled dates, the Amin did not complete the land measurement work. Frustrated by the delay, the complainant contacted the Vigilance Department.
After receiving the complaint, the Vigilance team collected details and confirmed the allegation of bribe demand. Following this, a trap was planned to catch the accused.

Based on the complaint, the Vigilance Investigation Bureau Patna team prepared a strategy for action. As planned, the complainant was instructed to hand over the bribe amount, while the team kept a close watch on the entire process.
As soon as the Amin accepted the ₹5,000 bribe amount, the Vigilance team, which was already present nearby, caught him red-handed. The team recovered the bribe money from the spot.
