Bhagalpur: Panic gripped the Municipal Corporation office when a case of alleged misbehavior and death threats by a ward councillor against a government employee surfaced. The victim, Pritam Kumar, has lodged a formal written complaint at the Jogsar Police Station, leveling serious allegations against Ward Councillor Ranjeet Mandal. Following this incident, there is massive outrage among the Municipal Corporation staff, who have demanded security from the administration.

According to the information received, the victim, Pritam Kumar, was performing his duties at the Municipal Corporation office. It is alleged that Ward Councillor Ranjeet Mandal arrived at the office regarding some work. During this time, an argument broke out between the councillor and Pritam Kumar over a certain issue, which quickly escalated into a heated confrontation.
According to the complaint, the councillor not only used abusive language but also physically shoved the government employee. In his FIR, the victim stated that the councillor threatened to kill him and created a tense atmosphere within the office premises. The employee maintains that he was merely performing his official duties when this unexpected incident occurred.
Allegations of 'Obstruction of Official Work'
The Municipal Corporation Employees' Union has strongly condemned the incident. The members of the union argue that the behavior of elected representatives toward employees should be restrained and professional. In his complaint, the victim has demanded action under sections related to 'obstruction of government work' and 'threatening a public servant.' Pritam Kumar has also appealed to the district administration for security so that he can fulfill his responsibilities without fear.

The Station House Officer (SHO) stated that an investigation has been initiated based on the application provided by the victim.
