UG Admission Process Fast-Tracked for 2026-30 Session; Missing First Merit List Means 'No Second Chance'!

Deadline Extension: In view of server lags and massive crowds, the university has extended the admission date for the First Merit List.

Strict Ultimatum: If you are allotted a seat in the first list but fail to secure your admission, you will be permanently booted out of the entire session's race!

Zero Tolerance for Fraud: If even a 1% discrepancy is found between the online marks entered and the original marksheet, the admission will be cancelled instantly.

Ground Reality: A 'War' for Seats Across 35+ Colleges in Seemanchal

A fierce battle is underway for seats in the four-year undergraduate Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for the 2026-30 session (First Semester). The rush is being felt across all major constituent and affiliated colleges under Purnia University spanning four key districts—Purnia, Katihar, Araria, and Kishanganj. Long queues of students are hitting the college counters first thing in the morning. For highly sought-after subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, and Zoology, competition is so cutthroat that dozens of applicants are vying for a single seat.

DSW and Principals Issue Stern Ultimatum: "Lock Your Seat Now or Regret Later!"

The Department of Students' Welfare (DSW) and principals of top-tier colleges have issued a final and strict warning to those students who have made the First Merit List but are wasting time overthinking their options.

Understand the rules carefully! > If your name has been allotted to a college in the first list, you must complete your document verification and fee submission within the extended deadline. If you skip this window, your name will not be reconsidered in the Second or Third Merit Lists. It is a literal 'Game Over' for your admission.

The 3 Iron Rules of Admission You Cannot Afford to Ignore

 1% Error = Instant Cancellation!

Many students intentionally or accidentally enter inflated marks while applying through cyber cafes just to force their name onto the first list. This time, colleges have been given strict operational orders: if there is even the slightest mismatch between the scores on the online form and the original marksheet, the admission will be summarily rejected.

 The New 'Tie-Breaker' Formula

If two students have identical marks in their Intermediate (12th) exams and only one seat remains, the university will trigger the 'Tie-Breaker Rule':

First, their Matriculation (10th) marks will be cross-checked. The one with the higher 10th score gets the seat.

If it remains a tie, Age (Date of Birth) becomes the deciding factor; the older candidate will be prioritized.

 Internet Marksheets Must Be 'Attested'

Students who have not yet received their original physical marksheet from their respective boards are bringing downloaded web copies or DigiLocker prints. However, note that these copies must be duly signed and stamped (Attested) by the principal of your previous school or college to be considered valid.

Failed Payment? Facing Subject Selection Glitches? Here is the Helpdesk!

Since the entire enrollment ecosystem is centrally managed via the digital 'Samarth Portal', students from rural pockets are encountering technical hiccups, such as failed online transactions or confusion regarding Major/Minor subject combinations. To combat this, the university has activated a dedicated technical helpdesk. Students can reach out to helpdeskadmission@purneau.ac.in between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM to resolve their queries.

Purnia University aims to wrap up the entire admission hustle by late June or the first week of July to ensure that the 2026-27 academic classes hit the ground running on schedule. So, gather your folders, head over to your allotted college, and lock in your admission—because seats are scarce, and the competitors are thousands!
