Kharik : The flood situation in Kharik block has become increasingly serious amid rising Ganga water levels and strong currents. The Raghopur-Kajikoraiya embankment has been breached, allowing floodwater to spread rapidly into surrounding areas. Water has entered agricultural fields, village roads and low-lying areas, increasing difficulties for residents. The damage to the embankment, constructed at a cost of crores of rupees, has also raised concerns over public infrastructure and the safety of nearby areas.
