Parent-Teacher Meeting Held at Middle School, Ramjanipur; Emphasis on Dialogue for the Holistic Development of Children
Kahalgaon (Bhagalpur): With the aim of improving the quality of education and enhancing the future of students, a grand Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was organized at Middle School, Ramjanipur in Kahalgaon. A large number of parents participated in this meeting, where detailed discussions were primarily focused on important points such as the academic progress of children, their regular attendance, and discipline.
The Importance of Dialogue: Participation of Parents and Teachers
Presiding over the meeting, the school's Headmaster stated that both teachers and parents share an equal role in a child's success. He said, "A school is not just four walls; it is the foundation where we build the future of children. Unless parents monitor the studies and activities of children at home, the children will not be able to reap the full benefits of the efforts made at school."
The Headmaster urged parents to pay attention to their children's daily routine. He stated that sending them to school on time, ensuring homework is completed, and fostering curiosity for learning in children are the primary responsibilities of parents.
Discussion on Academic Progress and Regular Attendance
During the meeting, the performance report cards of students from each class were shown to the parents. Students who performed better in the previous academic session were appreciated, while a consensus was reached on a plan for special 'Remedial Classes' for students with weaker performance.
'Regular Attendance' was highlighted as the biggest issue in the meeting. The school administration clarified to the parents that if a child does not attend class regularly, they will face difficulties in understanding the curriculum. As a solution, it was suggested to create an 'Inspiration Register' (Prerna Register), through which parents of children who remain absent will be contacted regularly.
Discipline and Values
Special emphasis was placed on discipline during the Parent-Teacher Meeting. Teachers told parents that along with good education, children are also being taught better values at school, but these must be followed at home as well. Warning parents about the increasing use of mobile phones and its adverse effects, they were advised to keep children busy with creative activities in addition to their studies.
Enthusiasm and Suggestions from Parents
Parents also actively participated in this meeting and provided several important suggestions. Some parents requested to further increase sports activities in the school, to which the Headmaster gave a positive assurance. At the end of the meeting, all parents took a pledge that they would remain in regular contact with the school and provide all possible support in achieving the educational goals of their children.
This effort by Middle School, Ramjanipur, will not only increase the quality of education but will also establish a bridge of trust between the community and the school. All the teachers of the school were present on this occasion, who, along with the parents, drafted a roadmap for the bright future of the children.
