The 'Mitti ki Rasm' and Religious Rituals
The fifth day of Muharram is considered highly significant in terms of traditions. On this occasion, local Taziadars and devotees performed the 'Mitti ki Rasm' (ritual of soil) with profound reverence. According to beliefs, this ritual is performed to express respect for the soil of Karbala. As the procession passed through various parts of the town and reached the main thoroughfares, people tearfully completed this ritual while remembering the martyrdom of Imam Hussain.

The enthusiasm of the youth was palpable as they marched forward, chanting the thunderous slogans of "Ya Hussain" and "Labbaik Ya Hussain." These chants resonated throughout the atmosphere, making the presence of Muharram even more evident in the city.
Traditional Sword Fighting and Displays of Skill
The most exciting scene of the procession occurred when various akhadas (groups) of youths performed traditional sword fighting and other spectacular stunts. By demonstrating their skills, the youth showcased their physical prowess and their dedication to tradition. A large crowd gathered on the sides of the roads and on rooftops to witness these performances. The displays of sword fighting and martial arts infused the procession with a unique energy, symbolic of the centuries-old culture of Muharram processions.

The administration had already issued guidelines to ensure the procession followed only designated routes, and compliance with these was ensured. Police forces were deployed to maintain peace and harmony. Furthermore, the administration ensured a complete ban on DJs and high-decibel music to prevent any disputes and to maintain religious decorum.
