Grand Event Organized Under 'Har Har Manjusha, Har Ghar Manjusha' Campaign, Resolution to Raise Awareness Among One Lakh People Under the Leadership of Manjusha Guru Manoj Kumar Pandit

Bhagalpur, Chief Correspondent: To revive the ancient, rich, and culturally renowned 'Manjusha Art' of the Anga region and take it to the masses, a massive campaign is currently underway in Bhagalpur. In this connection, a grand and inspiring event was organized in the city under the 'Har Har Manjusha, Har Ghar Manjusha' awareness campaign. This special program was led by renowned Manjusha guru and National Award-winning artist Manoj Kumar Pandit. The main objective of this campaign is to raise awareness among at least one lakh people in the rural and urban areas of Bhagalpur and its surroundings regarding the history, texture, and cultural significance of this unique folk art.

What Is Manjusha Art and What Is Its Historical Significance?

During the event, Manjusha Guru Manoj Kumar Pandit explained in detail to the art lovers, youth, and students present that Manjusha art is the sole folk painting tradition of the Anga region (especially Bhagalpur and its adjoining areas) based on the legends of the famous Anga epic and folklore 'Bishahra' (Vishahari Puja or Maa Mansa Puja). It is also referred to as 'Angika Painting'.

Primary Colors and Features: This art predominantly uses three traditional colors—yellow, green, and red. Its outlines revolve around serpent motifs and ancient temple-like structures.

Historical Recognition: It was once counted among the ancient and vanishing folk arts of India, and artists from Bhagalpur fought a long battle to save it and grant it an international platform. Today, this art is viewed worldwide as the 'identity of Anga'.

Main Objective of the 'Har Har Manjusha, Har Ghar Manjusha' Campaign

Addressing the program, campaign pioneer and eminent guru Manoj Kumar Pandit said that due to the blind race of modernity and the influence of Western culture, our ancient folk arts are fighting a battle for survival. The new generation is drifting away from its cultural roots. To bridge this gap, this public awareness campaign has been launched.

Highlighting the main points of the campaign, he stated that:

Reaching One Lakh People: Through this mega-campaign, the goal is to connect at least one lakh citizens, especially youth, through various schools, colleges, and community centers in Bhagalpur district.

Domestic and Commercial Identity: Just as homes feature other religious or cultural symbols, every household should possess some item related to Manjusha art (paintings, handicrafts, apparel, etc.)—this is the core sentiment behind the slogan 'Har Ghar Manjusha'.

Employment for Local Artists: Connecting women and youth in rural areas to self-employment through this art so that they can become financially empowered.

Crowd Gathers at the Event, Immense Enthusiasm Among Youth and Women

A large number of students from various city schools, art students, and members of women's self-help groups arrived to participate in this awareness camp held at the venue. During the event, Manjusha Guru Manoj Kumar Pandit familiarized young artists with the core principles and nuances of Manjusha art through a live demonstration.

Organization of Workshops: A short workshop was also hosted during the event, where youth learned to create traditional Manjusha borders and serpent motifs themselves using yellow, green, and red colors.

Youth Response: Many participating students expressed that for the first time, they realized how deeply enriched the culture of their own city, Bhagalpur, truly is. They resolved to promote this art across their social media platforms and among friends.

Resolve to Grant Global Platform to Anga Region's Identity

Special guests and speakers emphasized in their addresses that just as Madhubani painting (Mithila painting) gained global recognition across Bihar and the country, Manjusha art too can carve out a special place worldwide due to its unique storytelling style. The need of the hour is for the general public, alongside the government and local administration, to fulfill their moral responsibility in preserving this cultural heritage.

The 'Har Har Manjusha, Har Ghar Manjusha' awareness campaign organized in Bhagalpur is not merely a cultural event, but a major endeavor to reclaim and preserve our lost cultural identity. Operating under the leadership of Manjusha Guru Manoj Kumar Pandit, this campaign is poised to succeed in reaching every household in Bhagalpur in the coming days, ensuring that not only does our ancient folk art survive, but future generations take immense pride in this rich heritage.
