Former DSW Raises Voice in Support of Guest Teachers: Demands Reinstatement of Removed Teachers and Action Against Responsible Officials

Bhagalpur: The issue of the termination of services of guest teachers at the university campus is gaining significant momentum. In a bold move, the former Dean of Students' Welfare (DSW) has stepped forward to support the removed guest teachers. He has not only demanded the immediate reinstatement of these teachers but has also called for strict disciplinary action against the officials allegedly responsible for irregularities in the entire process.

The Former DSW’s Stance

Speaking to the media, the former DSW stated that removing guest teachers—who have contributed for years to maintaining the university's academic standards—so abruptly and without a solid foundation is entirely unjustifiable. He described this action not only as an injustice to the teachers but also as detrimental to the academic prestige of the university.

He asserted that there has been a severe lack of the transparency required in matters of selection and service extension. The former DSW has demanded that the university administration review the list of experienced teachers who were removed and reinstate them immediately.

Demand for Accountability

Expressing his dissatisfaction, the former DSW questioned the role of all officials and committee members who were responsible for the decision to terminate the services of these teachers. According to him:

Lack of Transparency: The failure to make the criteria for termination public raises serious questions about the administration's intentions.

Fixing Accountability: He has urged the Chancellor and the Higher Education Department to conduct an impartial, high-level inquiry into the matter. He insisted that if any manipulation or personal bias is found in the process, immediate action must be taken against the individuals responsible.

The Plight of Removed Teachers

The removed guest teachers stated that they had been teaching with utmost dedication for years, even on meager honorariums. Now, with the academic session about to begin, their sudden removal has created a crisis of livelihood for them. The support of the former DSW has given these teachers new hope. They have alleged that experienced and qualified teachers were ousted to benefit certain "preferred" individuals.

Mounting Pressure on University Administration

The pressure on the university administration has intensified following these developments. While there is an assurance that teaching will resume from July 1, the voices of protest arising from the removal of experienced faculty are causing a stir in administrative corridors. Student organizations have also joined the protest in support of this demand, making the situation increasingly sensitive.

Future Strategy

The former DSW has warned that if the removed teachers are not reinstated respectfully and if action is not taken against the guilty, he will launch an aggressive protest alongside other teachers and student organizations. He made it clear that he would not, under any circumstances, allow the university's academic system to be crippled.

The guest teacher dispute at Bhagalpur University now appears to be transforming into a major administrative and political issue. The open support from the former DSW has given this matter a new turn. All eyes are now on how the university administration responds to this opposition and whether justice will be served to the removed teachers.
