Muzaffarpur: A shocking incident of an attack on a police officer has come to light in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district. An Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) driver was allegedly assaulted after reaching the spot in response to a complaint. According to the police, the attackers not only physically assaulted the police personnel but also tore his official uniform. They are also accused of snatching a gold chain weighing approximately 30 grams from around his neck. Following the incident, the police have registered a case and launched raids at multiple locations to arrest the accused.
According to police officials, the incident occurred when the ERV driver received a complaint and proceeded to the location to assess the situation and take necessary action. Preliminary information suggests that shortly after he arrived, an argument broke out between the police personnel and a group of individuals, which allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation.
Police stated that during the altercation, the accused allegedly assaulted the ERV driver, tore his government-issued uniform, and snatched a gold chain weighing around 30 grams from his neck. The incident reportedly created panic in the locality for some time.
After receiving information about the attack, officers from the local police station and senior officials reached the scene. The injured police personnel was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received primary medical treatment. Doctors reportedly stated that his condition is stable.
