Buxar: The administrative process for the reorganization and fresh delimitation of the Buxar Municipal Council has gathered momentum following directives issued by the Bihar Urban Development and Housing Department. The department has instructed all District Magistrates in the state to submit the final delimitation proposal by August 30, along with a detailed map, police station details, population data, boundaries, and other required information. After the proposal is submitted, a draft notification will be issued, and the public will be given 30 days to file claims and objections.

Preparations for the proposed expansion of the Buxar Municipal Council are progressing rapidly. A revised municipal map is being prepared that proposes the inclusion of several surrounding villages within the municipal limits. The proposed expansion has become a topic of discussion among residents of both urban and rural areas.

Final Proposal to Be Submitted by August 30

The Urban Development and Housing Department has directed all District Magistrates to strictly adhere to the deadline and submit the final delimitation proposal in the prescribed format.

The proposal must include a detailed map of the area, police station jurisdiction, population statistics, revenue boundaries, and clearly defined geographical limits. Officials believe that preparing comprehensive records will help avoid future administrative or legal disputes and ensure greater transparency in the restructuring process.

Expanded Municipal Map Under Preparation

Authorities are preparing a revised map for the expansion of the Buxar Municipal Council.

According to officials, the objective is to redefine the municipal boundaries based on the city's growing population, urban expansion, and future development requirements. Several nearby rural areas have been proposed for inclusion in the expanded municipal limits to facilitate better urban planning and civic infrastructure.

Public to Get Opportunity to Raise Objections

After the final proposal is submitted, the state government will issue a draft notification.

Following the notification, residents, public representatives, and other stakeholders will have 30 days to submit their claims, suggestions, or objections. Any village, panchayat, or individual affected by the proposed delimitation will have the opportunity to present their views through the prescribed procedure before the proposal is finalized.

Process to Be Completed Before Panchayat Elections

The government aims to complete the entire delimitation exercise before the Bihar three-tier Panchayat General Elections scheduled for the end of 2026.

Officials said completing the process in advance will enable the timely reorganization of the affected Gram Panchayats and ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections.

Proposed Map Circulating on Social Media

Meanwhile, a proposed municipal map, claimed to have been prepared by the Urban Development Department, is being widely circulated on social media and other online platforms.

However, the administration has advised citizens to rely only on official information. Officials emphasized that the final decision will be made only after the government issues the official notification.

Villages Proposed for Inclusion

According to the proposed map, the villages of Khutaha, Majharia, Arjunpur, Ramobaria, Dahibar, Garhni, Dalsagar, Tiwaripur, Parsia, Shivpur, Harikishunpur, Nadawan, Padri, Sahopara, Gangaura, Churamanpur, Darharpur, Sherpur, Jagdishpur, Panditpur, Sondhila, Ijri, Hukaha, Rahsichak, Lalganj, Batwa, Manauvarchak, Saraon, Larai, Haripur, Umarpur, Gobinapur, Puliya, Ballia, Laxmipur, and Mishrawaliya have been proposed for inclusion within the expanded limits of the Buxar Municipal Council.

Officials clarified that these villages will be officially included only after the delimitation process is completed and all public claims and objections have been examined.

Expanded Municipal Limits May Bring Better Civic Amenities

If the proposal is approved, residents of the newly included villages could gain access to a range of municipal services, including improved roads, drainage systems, street lighting, drinking water supply, sanitation services, and solid waste management.

At the same time, municipal regulations, taxation policies, and other urban administrative provisions may also become applicable in these areas.

Administration Seeks Public Cooperation

The district administration has appealed to residents to cooperate with the delimitation process and submit any suggestions or objections through official channels within the prescribed period.

Officials said the entire process will be conducted transparently, and all representations received from the public will be carefully considered before any final decision is made.
