Gaya: A 62-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic road accident on the Gaya-Dobhi GT Road in Bihar on Wednesday. The incident occurred near the Biodiversity Park at Piparghati when a coal-laden truck lost control and overturned while attempting to avoid a bus traveling ahead. As the truck overturned, its entire load of coal spilled onto the road, burying a passing motorcyclist underneath. Despite rescue efforts by local residents and emergency personnel, the victim could not be saved.

According to eyewitnesses, traffic was moving normally along the Gaya-Dobhi GT Road when the coal-laden truck reached the area near the Biodiversity Park at Piparghati.
The truck driver reportedly tried to avoid colliding with a bus traveling ahead by making a sudden maneuver. However, due to the truck's heavy load and loss of balance, the vehicle overturned on the road.
As it overturned, several tons of coal spilled onto the roadway, trapping a nearby motorcyclist beneath the massive pile.
Motorcyclist Buried Under the Coal
The accident happened so suddenly that nearby people had little time to react. Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to the scene and discovered that a man had been buried beneath the coal.
They immediately began rescue operations by attempting to remove the coal manually. However, because of the large quantity of coal, they were unable to reach the victim.
A JCB excavator was then brought to the site to assist in removing the coal.
Body Recovered With the Help of a JCB
After a lengthy rescue operation involving local residents and the JCB machine, the buried motorcycle and the victim, identified as Karu Mistry, were finally recovered.
Unfortunately, he had already succumbed to his injuries by the time rescuers reached him.
Police were informed immediately and arrived at the scene to take charge of the situation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination, while the damaged truck and motorcycle were removed to restore traffic.

Police identified the deceased as 62-year-old Karu Mistry, a resident of Matan Mor in the Bahera police station area.
