BHAGALPUR: In Bhagalpur—a land steeped in literature, culture, and intellectual discourse—the Bhagalpur chapter of the ‘Akhil Bharatiya Sahityakar Parishad,’ an organization continuously driving literary activities forward, organized a grand and memorable event in Anandmarg Colony, Aliganj. This event took place as a ‘Bhavanjali Kavi Goshti’ (Poetic Tribute Symposium) on the occasion of the death anniversary of the late Chhatthu Thakur, drawing a large gathering of renowned writers, poets, and art lovers from Bhagalpur and surrounding areas. The primary objective of the program was to pay tribute to the late Chhatthu Thakur by offering floral offerings to his portrait and remembering him through poetry.
Inauguration and Presidency of the Program
This esteemed literary symposium was presided over by Mahendra Prasad Nishakar, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahityakar Parishad, Bhagalpur chapter. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (Maa Sharade). On this occasion, members of the council highlighted the personality and works of the late Chhatthu Thakur, remembering his contributions to society and literature.
Well-known humor and satire poet of Bihar, Kumar Bhagalpuri, graced the event as the chief guest. He left the audience in splits by reciting lines filled with humor and wit in his signature style. He enlivened the gathering with his famous presentation: "Peekar bhaang tarang mein sunaya, 'Dant nay chhay ekko go mukh m', Solid chhay parabhu aant janra ke sattu da daho muthe-muthalha haaf"—prompting thunderous applause throughout the auditorium.
Presentations by Special Guests and Poets
Attending as a special guest, Paras Kunj paid homage to the late Chhatthu Thakur through a poignant composition, sharing these lines from his poem:
"Koi aata hai khyaalon mein guzar jaata hai, sirf ehsaas hai jo dil mein utar jaata hai,
Yeh bhi kya kam hai judaai mein ai 'Paras' unki, gauh-e-ashq se daaman mera bhar jaata hai."
Continuing the sequence of poetic recitation, Thakur Nirala presented a deeply emotional composition dedicated to mothers, moving the listeners to tears:
"Apne dukh ko kabhi na kehti, maa toh bas aisi hi hoti hai..."
President and senior litterateur Mahendra Prasad Nishakar underscored the significance of God and creation through his composition:
"Is dhara dham par laane waala, badi jatan se jisne paala,
Jiski ichcha ke kaaran hi, aaj sakaar hai astitva hamaara."

The program was gracefully and smoothly anchored by Abhay Kumar Bharti. During the anchoring, he deeply discussed the sacrifices, struggles, and devotion of parents toward their children, capturing everyone's hearts.
At the onset of the ceremony, Kapil Dev Kripala initiated the event by presenting a Saraswati Vandana and a welcome song. Subsequently, other distinguished poets from the city and neighboring regions presented their finest works:

Renowned Bhojpuri poet Ganesh Thakur Akela won applause with a composition rooted in the local soil.
Additionally, Sachidanand Kiran, Jayant Jalad, Ajit Kumar, and Ramji Vrindavani added vibrancy to the gathering with their poems, paying a sincere tribute to the late Chhatthu Thakur.
