The Congress Seva Dal has stepped forward in open support of teachers and non-teaching staff of financially unaided schools and colleges who have long been victims of financial and mental harassment. Ignorance of Equal Pay for Equal Work: Despite having identical qualifications, there is a vast difference in the pay scales of government and unaided teachers, leading to immense frustration and discontent among them.

Hundreds of unaided teachers, employees, and Congress Seva Dal workers from every corner of the district participated in the sit-in protest organized at the Muzaffarpur district headquarters on Sunday. Speakers at the venue launched a sharp attack on the government's educational policies.

Memorandum to the Chief Minister and Key Demands

After the conclusion of the foot march, a delegation of the Congress Seva Dal and the teachers' association met senior officials of the district administration and submitted a detailed memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of the state. The memorandum included the following major demands:

Guarantee of Regular Pay Scale: All teachers and non-teaching staff of unaided schools and colleges should be paid regular monthly salaries on par with teachers of government schools.

Complete Job Security Law: A stringent law should be enacted to secure the service of teachers so that arbitrary termination by management can be prevented.

Simplification of Grant Process: Until complete takeover occurs, the complex procedures surrounding grant amounts should be simplified to ensure timely disbursement.

Health and Social Security: Health insurance and pension schemes should be implemented for the teachers.

Reaction of the Government and Administration

Following this strong protest by the Congress Seva Dal and teachers, political circles have also grown abuzz. Although no official statement has yet emerged from the government or the education department level, experts believe that if the government does not make a positive decision in time, this agitation could take on an even more aggressive form in the coming days.
