Bhagalpur: The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) officially commenced classes for Undergraduate Semester 1 (Academic Session 2026–30) on Wednesday. Following directives issued by the university administration, affiliated and constituent colleges welcomed newly admitted students and began regular academic activities. On the first day of the new session, many colleges organized orientation programs to familiarize students with the academic calendar, examination system, university regulations, and campus facilities.

After receiving official instructions from Lok Bhavan regarding the commencement of the new academic session, the university directed all colleges to begin classes without delay. TMBU Dean of Students' Welfare (DSW), Dr. Archana Sah, issued detailed guidelines to principals and heads of departments to ensure the smooth start of the academic year.

New Academic Session Officially Begins

From Wednesday morning, colleges across the university witnessed a large number of new students arriving on campus. Institutions welcomed the students and introduced them to class schedules, departmental procedures, academic regulations, and university policies.

Several colleges organized orientation sessions where faculty members explained the importance of higher education, discipline, regular attendance, and the curriculum implemented under the National Education Policy (NEP).

Directions Issued Following Lok Bhavan's Order

University officials stated that Lok Bhavan had instructed TMBU to begin the new academic session on schedule. Acting on these directions, the university instructed all affiliated colleges to start classes promptly and strictly follow the academic calendar.

DSW Dr. Archana Sah also directed college administrations to ensure that students do not face unnecessary difficulties related to admissions, documentation, or classroom arrangements.

Most colleges had already completed the necessary preparations before the start of the new session. Classrooms were cleaned, seating arrangements finalized, departmental timetables prepared, and faculty responsibilities assigned.
