Uncontrolled Bike Collides with Auto; Senior Social Worker Binod Singh Critically Injured
Pirpainti (Bhagalpur): In a horrific road accident near Pyalapur under the Pirpainti police station area of Bhagalpur district, senior social worker Binod Singh was critically injured. The forceful collision between a speeding motorcycle and an auto-rickshaw has not only caused a stir in the region but has also raised serious concerns regarding road safety. After receiving primary treatment, the injured social worker has been referred to Bhagalpur for advanced medical care.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred while Binod Singh was traveling in an auto-rickshaw for some work. Near Pyalapur, a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at an extremely high speed crashed directly into the auto. The impact was so severe that the auto-rickshaw lost its balance and overturned on the side of the road. Binod Singh, who was in the auto, sustained critical injuries, including severe trauma to his head and other parts of his body.
Immediately following the incident, a crowd of local residents gathered at the scene. Shopkeepers and passersby rushed to the spot without wasting any time, pulled Binod Singh out of the wreckage, and transported him to the local health center.
Referred to Bhagalpur After Primary Treatment
Upon examining the social worker's critical condition, doctors on duty at the Pirpainti health center provided primary care. The medical team noted that he sustained internal injuries and required specialized monitoring. Given the severity of his condition, the doctors immediately referred him to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (Mayaganj), Bhagalpur, for better and advanced treatment. His family members moved him to Bhagalpur via ambulance, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident has triggered significant outrage among local residents. People stated that bike riders in Pyalapur and surrounding areas often operate their vehicles at excessive speeds, leading to frequent accidents. Locals expressed that a senior social worker, who is always active in public service, has had to pay the price for a reckless bike rider's negligence.
Police Action
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Pirpainti police reached the scene. The police inspected the site and took the damaged vehicles into their custody. The Station House Officer (SHO) stated that an investigation has been initiated, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify the bike rider. The accused rider is currently absconding, and raids are being conducted to ensure his arrest.
