Two Notorious Liquor Smugglers from Pasraha Arrested on Secret Information, Large Quantity of Foreign Liquor Recovered and Sent to Jail

Bhawanipur police have achieved another major breakthrough in their ongoing campaign to strictly enforce the complete liquor prohibition law in Bihar and dismantle the illicit liquor network operating across border areas. Acting swiftly on a precise tip-off, the Bhawanipur police caught two shrewd liquor smugglers red-handed from the Pasraha area. The arrested smugglers have been identified as Saurabh Kumar and Hareram Kumar.

The police recovered 12.75 liters of illicit foreign liquor from their possession, which they were planning to distribute locally. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhawanipur has officially confirmed the entire operation and subsequent arrests. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against both accused under the Prohibition Act, and they have been sent to jail under judicial custody.

How the Trap Was Laid (Bhawanipur Police's 'Operation Clean')

The police have been conducting special checking drives continuously to smash the supply chain of drug peddlers and illicit liquor operations within the Bhawanipur station limits. It was during one of these routine check-posts that the police intercepted a solid piece of intelligence.

Inside Story of the Raid:

The SHO had received confidential information that two major liquor smugglers from the Pasraha area were carrying a significant consignment through Bhawanipur. Acting immediately on these instructions, a special police team was dispatched. The police team lost no time and effectively set up a strategic cordon (roadblock) at the identified location.

Soon after, two suspicious youths riding a motorcycle attempted to flee upon spotting the police party. Demonstrating prompt agility, the police personnel surrounded and apprehended both individuals. Upon a thorough search of their bags and vehicle, a total of 12.75 liters of foreign liquor of various brands was recovered from inside.

Profile of the Smugglers: Network Operated from Pasraha

Both smugglers caught by the police are career offenders who had been involved in this illegal trade for a long time.

Smuggler 1: Saurabh Kumar (Resident of Pasraha) – Handled logistics, final local delivery, and WhatsApp coordination within the network.

Smuggler 2: Hareram Kumar (Resident of Pasraha) – Functioned primarily as the 'carrier' responsible for safely transporting stock from one hub to another.

During the preliminary interrogation, both admitted that they intended to sell this liquor at premium rates locally through home delivery modules ahead of parties and weddings. The police are currently analyzing their mobile Call Detail Records (CDR) to map out where they sourced this consignment from and to identify the kingpin of the operation.

Official Statement from the SHO: "Campaign Against Liquor Mafia Will Continue"

Following this successful raid and arrests, the Bhawanipur SHO issued a stern warning message. He made it clear that no form of substance smuggling will be tolerated in the region under any circumstances.

 The Bhawanipur SHO Stated:

“Working efficiently on a secret tip-off, our police team has successfully arrested two smugglers from Pasraha, Saurabh and Hareram, along with 12.75 liters of illicit liquor. An FIR has been registered against both under relevant legal sections. Following court orders, both have been remanded to judicial custody and sent behind bars. We appeal to the citizens of Bhawanipur to immediately report any illegal manufacturing or sale of liquor to the police. Your identity will be kept completely confidential.”

The police are not viewing this case merely as a standalone recovery of 12.75 liters of liquor. Police sources indicate that dots are being connected to smash a much larger active liquor cartel stretching from Pasraha to Bhawanipur. The documentation of the motorcycle used by the smugglers is also being verified to determine if the vehicle was stolen.

To evade police checkpoints in Bihar, liquor smugglers have moved away from larger commercial vehicles, turning instead to motorcycles and small backpacks via human carriers. However, this high level of alertness by the Bhawanipur police sends a clear signal that no matter how many tactics smugglers shift, they cannot escape the long arm of the law.
