Tej Pratap Yadav’s Troubles May Increase, Minister Sanjay Singh Sends ₹500 Million Defamation Notice; Demands Apology and Removal of Post

Patna: The political dispute in Bihar has now taken a legal turn, with allegations and counter-allegations between political leaders escalating. Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav may face further legal trouble after Bihar government minister Sanjay Kumar Singh sent him a ₹50 crore defamation notice.

The legal notice was reportedly issued through Sanjay Kumar Singh’s lawyer, Sushil Kumar. The notice alleges that statements and social media posts made by Tej Pratap Yadav against the minister were false, baseless, misleading and defamatory.

Dispute Began With a Social Media Post

The controversy reportedly began with a social media post attributed to Tej Pratap Yadav. According to reports, the post alleged that Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh had behaved inappropriately with a female employee at a hotel in Delhi and had allegedly attempted to exploit her.

Tej Pratap Yadav reportedly demanded an impartial investigation into the matter and urged the government and administration to look into the allegations.

The post also allegedly referred to claims that an amount of around ₹25 lakh had been discussed in connection with efforts to settle or suppress the matter. However, these allegations have not been independently verified. Sanjay Kumar Singh has rejected the allegations and described them as an attempt to damage his public and political reputation.

Minister Calls Allegations False and Baseless

According to the legal notice, the allegations made against Sanjay Singh through social media have no factual basis. The minister’s side has described the alleged statements as malicious and defamatory.

The notice reportedly also refers to the circulation of an allegedly morphed or fake photograph. The minister’s side claims that such material was circulated with the intention of damaging his social, political and public image.

Sanjay Singh has strongly objected to the publication and circulation of such content and has sought legal remedies against what he considers defamatory statements.

₹50 Crore Defamation Claim

The most significant aspect of the legal notice is the demand for ₹50 crore in damages for alleged defamation.

The notice reportedly asks Tej Pratap Yadav to remove the concerned social media post, publicly withdraw the allegations and issue an unconditional apology.

He has also reportedly been asked to provide a written assurance that similar allegations will not be repeated on social media or other public platforms in the future.

The minister’s side has warned that failure to comply with the demands within the stipulated period could result in further legal action. The possibility of both civil and criminal proceedings has reportedly been mentioned in the notice.

Tej Pratap and Sanjay Singh Have Clashed Before

The latest controversy is not the first time Tej Pratap Yadav and Sanjay Kumar Singh have exchanged sharp statements.

Following the allegations made by Tej Pratap, Sanjay Singh reportedly challenged him to provide evidence supporting the claims. He is also reported to have said that he would even consider leaving politics if the allegations against him were proven.

The political confrontation subsequently intensified, with both sides exchanging strong statements.

Tej Pratap Yadav, meanwhile, maintained that he would not be intimidated and insisted that the truth should come out.

Tej Pratap Had Demanded an Investigation

Tej Pratap Yadav reportedly described the alleged incident as serious and called for an investigation. He argued that if a woman had been subjected to inappropriate treatment, the matter should be investigated impartially.

However, Sanjay Singh’s side maintains that serious allegations were made against him without sufficient evidence and that these statements caused significant damage to his reputation.

At present, there has been no independent confirmation of the allegations made against the minister. Therefore, the claims should be treated as allegations made by one party rather than established facts.

Deadline for Response

There appears to be some variation among reports regarding the deadline mentioned in the legal notice. Some reports have referred to a demand for action within 48 hours, while others have mentioned a period of seven days.

The demands reportedly include removing the disputed post, issuing a public apology and providing a written assurance against repeating such allegations.

If these demands are not fulfilled, Sanjay Singh’s side may proceed with further legal action, including approaching the appropriate court.

Controversy Creates Stir in Bihar Politics

Political exchanges between leaders are common in Bihar, but a dispute reaching the stage of a legal defamation notice makes the matter considerably more serious.

The controversy between Tej Pratap Yadav and Sanjay Singh has now moved beyond political statements and social media posts and entered the legal domain.

The ₹50 crore defamation notice has attracted considerable attention in Bihar’s political circles, particularly because Tej Pratap Yadav has been actively involved in political activities and frequently uses social media to communicate with the public.

The legal notice has therefore added a new dimension to the ongoing political confrontation.

Tej Pratap’s Response Now Crucial

The next major development will depend on how Tej Pratap Yadav responds to the ₹50 crore defamation notice.

Several questions remain unanswered. Will Tej Pratap provide evidence to support his allegations? Will he remove the disputed post and issue an apology? Or will he stand by his claims and contest the allegations legally?

If he refuses to comply with the demands outlined in the notice, the dispute could potentially reach the courts.

For now, both sides have presented their respective positions. Tej Pratap Yadav has called for an investigation into the allegations, while Sanjay Singh has rejected them and initiated legal proceedings over what he describes as defamatory claims.

The coming days are therefore likely to be important for determining whether the dispute remains a political controversy or develops into a full-fledged legal battle.
