Subodh Kumar Takes Over Sabour and Vikas Kumar Takes Command of Bypass Police Station, Facing the Challenge of Restoring Law and Order

Bhagalpur/Sabour: Following an administrative reshuffle in two major police stations under the Bhagalpur police district, the new in-charges have officially assumed office. On Friday, the new station house officers (SHOs) formally joined their respective duties at the Sabour police station and the Bypass police station. Subodh Kumar took charge as the new SHO of Sabour police station, while the command of the Bypass police station was handed over to young police officer Vikas Kumar. With the joining of these new officers, efforts have begun to bring policing and law and order back on track in the region.

Subodh Kumar Assumes Charge at Sabour Police Station, Completes Handover from Former SHO Bittu Kumar Kamal

Located along the Bhagalpur-Sultanganj main highway, the Sabour police station area is considered highly sensitive in terms of commercial and educational activities. Due to the presence of the agricultural university and several banks, security management has always been a top priority. On Friday, in an official procedure at the Sabour police station, newly appointed SHO Subodh Kumar completed the charge handover process from former SHO Bittu Kumar Kamal.

Immediately after the handover concluded, the newly appointed SHO Subodh Kumar inspected the police station premises and held a brief meeting with all police officers and personnel of the Sabour station. During this interaction, he reviewed the geographical layout of the area, key criminal touchpoints, and pending cases. Subodh Kumar stated clearly that his priorities would be to curb crime in the area, strike fear into the hearts of criminals, and keep the doors of the police station accessible to the general public at all times.

Vikas Kumar Joins Bypass Police Station, Given Responsibility Following Suspension of Chanbir Yadav

On the other hand, a major change has also taken place in the Bypass police station area, which is considered vital for the city's traffic and security framework. Recently, major administrative action was taken against the former in-charge of the Bypass police station, Chanbir Yadav, resulting in his suspension. Following the vacancy created by his suspension, the police administration reposed its trust in Vikas Kumar, appointing him as the new SHO.

On Friday, Vikas Kumar arrived at the Bypass police station and took over his duties. Right after assuming office, he gathered details regarding sensitive zones, danger zones, and locations prone to suspicious activities within the station jurisdiction. Speaking to the media, he stated that anti-social elements and illegal activities in the bypass area would be monitored strictly. Road safety, vehicle checks, and rounding up criminals will remain at the top of his priority list.

Significant Challenges Ahead for the New Officers

Both the Sabour and Bypass areas in Bhagalpur are considered quite challenging from the perspective of crime and traffic management.

Challenges in the Sabour Area: Maintaining smooth security arrangements around mutual disputes, petty thefts, the transit of sand and other illegal mining, and the university campus will serve as a major test for the new SHO, Subodh Kumar. Acting promptly on public grievances will remain a crucial part of his working style.

Challenges in the Bypass Area: Meanwhile, being connected to highways and arterial routes, the Bypass police station area has been notorious for criminal activities and road accidents. Restoring the reputation of the police station following the suspension of former in-charge Chanbir Yadav and rebuilding a relationship of trust between the police and the public will be the biggest challenge for Vikas Kumar.

Hopes Aroused Among Public, Focus Shifts to Crime Control

As soon as news of the new officers joining both police stations spread, a positive message was conveyed among local intellectuals, business owners, and the general public. People hope that the arrival of energetic new police officers will cause the crime graph in the region to drop and make the policing system more transparent.

Upon assuming office, both SHOs held meetings with the chowkidars and beat officers of their respective jurisdictions and issued strict directives. It remains to be seen how effectively Subodh Kumar and Vikas Kumar live up to these expectations and how successful they are in establishing the rule of law in these two key police stations of Bhagalpur.
