Students of PM SHRI Schools to Get Exposure Visit Opportunity: Will Visit Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas
Bhagalpur: Under the ambitious 'PM SHRI' (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme of the Ministry of Education, preparations are underway to transform the face of government schools. In this sequence, students of selected PM SHRI schools in the state, including Bhagalpur, will now be taken on educational tours to Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) through 'Exposure Visits.' The primary objective of this initiative is to promote academic excellence among students and introduce them to a superior academic environment.
What is the Purpose of Exposure Visits?
The goal of this new initiative launched by the Education Department is to develop 'curiosity for learning' and 'practical knowledge' among children. During the visits, students will participate in the following activities:
Understanding the Academic Environment: Students will be able to observe closely the teaching methodologies, the disciplined environment, and the innovative activities adopted in these schools.
Sharing Experiences: After the visit, students will share the best practices learned there with their classmates during the school's 'Morning Assembly' (Chetna Satra).
Implementation of the Plan: Members of the school's Bal Sansad (Children’s Parliament), Eco Club, and Meena Manch will plan to implement these good practices in their own schools, which will be executed under the guidance of headmasters and teachers.
Integration of Modern Technology in Education
Apart from exposure visits, several other steps are being taken to further empower PM SHRI schools. Recently, a decision was made to set up 'Language Labs' in 25 PM SHRI schools of Bhagalpur.
Smart Learning: These labs will be equipped with interactive software, tablets, and high-speed internet, which will help in the development of students' language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Individual Tracking: Each student will be given a unique ID and password, allowing teachers to easily track their progress reports.
What Do Educationists and Teachers Say?
Educationists believe that such visits boost the confidence of students. Visiting institutions like Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to witness their discipline and functioning will serve as a source of inspiration for the children's future. This 'Twinning Program' will provide students with an opportunity to understand each other's culture and knowledge.
This initiative underway in PM SHRI schools is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Its aim is not just to provide textbook knowledge but to prepare students for 21st-century skills (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication). Visiting Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas will provide students with a new vision, inspiring them to achieve greater goals in the future. For the schools of Bhagalpur, this shift will take the academic standard to new heights in the coming days.
