Shravani Mela 2026: Major Preparations for Healthcare on Kanwariya Path, 129 Doctors to be Deployed

Bhagalpur/Munger/Banka: The Bihar government and the Health Department are on high alert for the world-famous State Shravani Mela 2026. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the lakhs of Kanwariyas (pilgrims) traveling from Sultanganj to Baba Dham, a robust network of health services is being established along the Kanwariya path this year.

42 Health Camps on the Kanwariya Path

During the upcoming Shravani Mela, which will be held from July 30 to August 28, 2026, a total of 42 temporary health camps will be set up along the Kanwariya path falling within Bhagalpur, Munger, and Banka districts. The primary objective of these camps is to provide 24-hour medical facilities to the pilgrims right on their walking route.

Deployment of 129 Doctors and Paramedical Teams

The Health Department has made comprehensive arrangements this time. For the period from July 30 to August 28, a total of 129 doctors from 17 different districts will be deputed to these health camps.

Special arrangements in Munger: In Munger district alone, 13 health camps are being set up on the Kanwariya path, where 45 doctors and 70 paramedical staff will be deployed.

24/7 Service: A medical team will be present in these camps day and night to provide immediate treatment in case of emergencies.

Referral and Emergency Facilities

The Health Department remains vigilant for the rapid treatment of critical patients. The District Health Societies have also requested additional ambulances from the State Health Department so that patients can be immediately referred to sub-divisional hospitals (such as Tarapur) if needed. Furthermore:

The camps will have adequate arrangements for oxygen, essential medicines, and beds.

A robust ambulance network is being prepared for the rapid referral of serious cases.

Other Administrative Preparations

Work is underway to make the Kanwariya path 'Shiva-centric' for the Shravani Mela. Along with health services, special arrangements for 'Jeevika Didi Ki Rasoi' have been made in all tent cities this year, where Kanwariyas will receive pure and nutritious food. Instructions have already been issued to the concerned departments to ensure facilities like Kanwar stands, pure drinking water, toilets, and uninterrupted power supply in the fair area.

This fair will give a new dimension to religious tourism, where devotees will be provided with a divine experience through modern technology, such as laser shows, drone shows, and motif theme lighting.
