School Bus Hits Welding Technician and Another Person; Admitted to Sadar Hospital

Gopalganj: A tragic road accident occurred on Monday near Jagarnatha village, located within the jurisdiction of the Manjhagarh police station in Gopalganj district. An uncontrolled, speeding school bus struck two people, leaving both seriously injured. Among the injured is a local welding technician. With the help of locals, both victims were rushed to the Model Sadar Hospital in Gopalganj for medical treatment, where the condition of one of them, Sujit Sharma, remains critical.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the victims is Sujit Sharma, a welding technician by profession. Sujit was busy with his work when a school bus passing near Jagarnatha village lost control and struck him and another individual. The impact was so severe that both were thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries.

Following the accident, the bus driver managed to flee the scene with the vehicle. However, local bystanders immediately rushed to the aid of the injured and informed their families. The incident caused a commotion at the site, and local villagers briefly disrupted traffic, demanding compensation and better road safety measures.

A Battle Between Life and Death

Both victims have been admitted to the emergency ward of the Sadar Hospital. A team of doctors is continuously monitoring their condition. According to the medical staff, the welding technician, Sujit Sharma, has sustained severe injuries. There is suspicion of head trauma and internal injuries, due to which his condition remains delicate. The second injured person is also undergoing treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable for now.

The families of the victims, who reached the hospital, were distraught. Sujit's family members expressed their grief, stating that he had left for work as usual, never imagining that the day would bring such a terrible misfortune.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police from the Manjhagarh station reached the spot and began an investigation. The police stated that they are scanning nearby CCTV footage to identify the bus and its driver. They have assured the public that the accused driver will be arrested soon.

Local residents complain that the high speed of school buses on this route is a frequent cause of accidents. They have demanded that the administration curb the speed of these vehicles and install speed breakers in accident-prone zones.
