Resolution Taken for a Grand Celebration; Temple Construction Work Picks Up Pace

Bihpur (Bhagalpur): An atmosphere of enthusiasm and proactive planning surrounds the upcoming Durga Puja in Babhangama village, located in the Bihpur block of Bhagalpur district. A crucial meeting of the local Durga Puja Committee was held on Wednesday with the aim of making this year’s festival grand and memorable. The meeting was presided over by the committee president, D.N. Singh, and saw active participation from the village's prominent citizens and dedicated members of the puja committee.

The Main Agenda: The Blueprint for Preparations

The primary objective of the meeting was to draft a roadmap for the programs to be held during the upcoming Sharadiya Navratri and to complete the incomplete construction work of the temple in a timely manner. Addressing the members, President D.N. Singh stated that Durga Puja is not merely a religious ritual, but a symbol of our social unity and brotherhood. He urged everyone to ensure that the puja is organized in a dignified manner so that the visiting devotees do not face any inconvenience.

Emphasis on Temple Construction and Beautification

The most significant point of discussion in the meeting was the review of the construction work of the Durga temple in Babhangama. The committee unanimously decided that the pending construction of the temple would be completed on a war footing.

Speed of Work: It was decided that the number of workers would be increased over the next few days so that the temple structure and decorative work can be completed before Navratri begins.

Beautification: A consensus was reached to perform the lighting and painting work in the temple premises using modern techniques, ensuring that the temple looks magnificent during the festival.

The Joy of Cultural Programs: Decision on 'Devi Jagran'

There was a detailed discussion regarding the programs to be held during the upcoming Puja. The committee members have decided that:

Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami: Grand 'Devi Jagran' (devotional musical nights) will be organized on these three main days.

Selection of Artists: Consideration was given to inviting famous external singers alongside local artists for the Jagran, so that devotees can experience true devotional bliss.

Electricity and Basic Amenities: Solving the Transformer Problem

During the meeting, a serious issue was also addressed—the power supply. Members of the Puja Committee pointed out that irregularities in power supply and low-voltage issues persist in the Babhangama area. Since there is excessive power consumption during the evenings for lighting and loudspeakers during Durga Puja, an additional transformer is felt to be a necessity.

Demand from the Electricity Department: President D.N. Singh stated that they would submit a written application to the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department, demanding that uninterrupted power supply be ensured during the festival days and, if possible, a high-capacity transformer be installed to prevent darkness during the Puja.

The Committee’s Resolve: Security and Discipline

To ensure the Puja concludes in a peaceful and disciplined manner, the committee also held a special discussion on security arrangements.

Volunteer Team: A team of young volunteers will be formed to manage the crowds, who will be deployed day and night during the festival.

CCTV and Lighting: The entire Puja pandal and temple premises will be kept under CCTV surveillance.

Cleanliness Drive: A team of village youth will conduct a cleanliness campaign throughout Babhangama to ensure the environment remains pure.

Festive Atmosphere in the Village

After the meeting, a sense of joy was evident among the residents of Babhangama. The villagers noted that given the planning strategy formulated under the leadership of D.N. Singh, it is clear that this year’s Durga Puja will be far more spectacular than those of the past several years.

Concluding the meeting, President D.N. Singh expressed his gratitude to everyone, saying, “Our goal is not just to perform worship, but to display the unity of Babhangama. This event will remain incomplete until every member contributes with full dedication.”

The meeting in Babhangama village of Bihpur reflects the deep-rooted attachment to tradition at the grassroots level. The preparations, ranging from temple construction to 'Devi Jagran,' indicate that the upcoming Navratri will bring a message of happiness to Babhangama. It is hoped that the administration will support the committee's claims regarding electricity and security so that the arrival of Goddess Durga in Babhangama can be celebrated with great fervor.
