Rain Likely in 30 Districts, Lightning Warning Issued for Several Areas; Farmers Welcome the Showers
Patna: The southwest monsoon has once again become active over Bihar, bringing widespread rainfall across several parts of the state. Good rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours has brought much-needed relief to farmers, especially those engaged in paddy cultivation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in 30 districts of Bihar on Monday. It has also issued a warning for thunderstorms and lightning in several districts, including Patna, Bhojpur, Arwal, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Saran, Nalanda, Jehanabad, and Gaya.
The weather department has advised people to remain alert during adverse weather conditions and avoid venturing into open areas during thunderstorms. Farmers have also been urged to monitor weather updates before working in the fields.
Rain Brings Relief to Farmers
The onset of the monsoon was relatively slow this year, causing concern among farmers as paddy transplantation was delayed in many districts due to insufficient rainfall. However, the recent spell of rain has significantly improved soil moisture, allowing agricultural activities to gain momentum.

The districts likely to receive rain include Patna, Bhojpur, Arwal, Buxar, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Saran, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Khagaria, Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, and Supaul.
Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds may also occur in several of these districts.
Lightning Warning Issued
The weather department has specifically warned of lightning in districts such as Patna, Bhojpur, Arwal, Muzaffarpur, and nearby areas. Lightning-related incidents are a major concern during the monsoon season and often result in casualties.
Authorities have advised people not to stand under trees, remain in open fields, or stay near electric poles during thunderstorms. They have been urged to seek shelter in safe buildings until the weather improves.
