Muzaffarpur: Panic spread in Muzaffarpur after an unidentified passenger was found unconscious under suspicious circumstances on the Motijheel Overbridge. Acting on information from passersby, the police rushed to the spot and admitted him to a hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation suggests that he may have fallen victim to a drugging gang. Police recovered three bags from his possession containing products from Arab countries and an address linked to Mumbai. Investigators are now trying to establish his identity and trace the purpose of his journey.

According to police officials, the man's condition is currently stable, but he has not yet regained full consciousness. Authorities expect to learn more about the incident once he is able to give his statement.

Passersby Alerted the Police

Eyewitnesses said that people passing through the Motijheel Overbridge noticed a man lying unconscious by the roadside on Thursday morning. Initially, they believed he was ill, but when he remained motionless for a long time, local residents informed the police.

A police team reached the scene immediately and shifted the man to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in an ambulance. Doctors began emergency treatment, and his condition is being closely monitored.

Drugging Gang Suspected

Police believe the case may be linked to a drugging gang, which is known to target travelers at railway stations, bus terminals, and major transit routes.

Such gangs typically befriend passengers, offer them food or drinks laced with sedatives, and rob them after they lose consciousness.

The three bags recovered from the victim have become an important part of the investigation.

Police found various products bearing labels from Arab countries, while one of the bags carried an address associated with Mumbai.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the man had arrived from Mumbai, was traveling there, had recently returned from abroad, or was engaged in business or employment related to the Gulf region.

Since the man remains unconscious, he has not been able to reveal his name, address, or travel details.

Police searched his belongings but reportedly did not find any clear identity documents.

Authorities are now examining the contents of the bags, travel documents, mobile phone, tickets, and other personal belongings to establish his identity. If the mobile phone becomes accessible, investigators will use call records and contact details to reach his family.
