Muzaffarnagar Court’s Historic Verdict: Two Sentenced to Death in 8-Year-Old Rajendra Saini Murder Case; ₹1.10 Lakh Fine Imposed

In a landmark judgment, Muzaffarnagar's Fast Track Court (ADJ-3), presided over by Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar, has delivered its verdict in the high-profile, 8-year-old Rajendra Saini murder case. Terming the crime as "rarest of rare," the court awarded the death penalty (hanging) to both surviving convicts. Additionally, a combined fine of ₹1.10 lakh has been imposed on them. Case Background: The Horrific Timeline

Date and Location: The incident dates back to June 4, 2018, when Rajendra Saini, a resident of the Kakrauli police station area, suddenly went missing.

The Motive (Illicit Affair): The prime accused, Veersain, suspected that his wife was having an illicit relationship with Rajendra Saini. Fueled by this animosity, Veersain hatched a conspiracy with his two associates (Gajendra and Ramkiran) to eliminate Rajendra.

The Execution: The trio lured Rajendra onto a motorcycle and took him to the jungles of the Bahsuma police station area in Meerut. There, they forced him to consume heavy amounts of alcohol before strangling him to death.

Attempt to Destroy Evidence: To hide the victim's identity and eliminate evidence, the accused set Rajendra's body on fire inside a farmer's field.

Police Investigation and Scientific Evidence (DNA Test)

On June 5, 2018, the police recovered a badly charred body from the Meerut jungle. The body was burnt beyond recognition. To establish the victim's identity with scientific precision, the police conducted a DNA test matching the body with Rajendra’s mother, confirming it was him. The prosecution presented 8 witnesses during the trial to build an airtight case.

 Current Status of the Accused

There were three main accused involved in this brutal crime:

Veersain (The Mastermind): Died in prison on December 10, 2025, while the trial was ongoing, leading to the closure of proceedings against him.

Gajendra alias Geelu: Found guilty and sentenced to death.

Ramkiran alias Sawan: Found guilty and sentenced to death.

Strictly Worded Observation by the Honorable Court

While pronouncing the judgment, Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar remarked:

"An offender must have the fear of the law while committing a crime. A strong message needs to be sent to society against such heinous and cruel offenses so that no one dares to replicate such acts in the future."
