Muharram Observed with Devotion and Brotherhood in Pirpainti Block: Tazia Processions and Immersion Conclude Peacefully
Pirpainti/Bhagalpur: The festival of Muharram was observed with devotion and in a peaceful atmosphere across various locations in the Pirpainti block on Friday. In memory of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions, devotees took out Tazia processions, which witnessed massive participation. The event, which continued until late in the evening, sent a unique message of communal harmony and brotherhood in the region.
Grand Tazia Processions Emerge from Various Panchayats
Traditional Tazia processions were taken out from Muslim-dominated villages in the block, such as Mahagama, Ranipur, Shahpur, Mohanpur, and the Pirpainti headquarters. Devotees, raising resounding chants of 'Ya Hussain, Ya Hussain', mourned in remembrance of Karbala. Youth and elders participating in the processions displayed traditional weapons and lathis, which is considered a symbol of bravery on this occasion.
These large and small processions originating from various panchayats toured the main routes. People had set up water and sherbet stalls at several locations, where individuals from all communities served the participating devotees, setting a beautiful example of brotherhood.
Strict Vigil and Security Arrangements by the Administration
The district administration was on high alert regarding the Muharram observance this year. The Pirpainti block administration had made extensive security arrangements. The Block Development Officer (BDO), Circle Officer (CO), and the local police force, along with senior police officials, patrolled the area throughout the day.
Deployment at Sensitive Spots: Police forces were specifically deployed at sensitive locations to prevent any untoward incidents.
Surveillance: The procession routes were closely monitored using drones and CCTV cameras.
Cyber Vigilance: The administration had activated its cyber cell to prevent the spread of any provocative posts or rumors on social media.
Strict Guidelines: The local police had strictly instructed the organizers to ensure a complete ban on DJs and objectionable slogans, a directive that was fully adhered to by the participants.
Active Role of the Peace Committee
Members of the local peace committee also played a crucial role in ensuring the peaceful conclusion of the event. Dignitaries and public representatives from all communities visited various villages in the block, appealing to the public to maintain peace and harmony. The peace committee members maintained constant coordination with the police during the processions and helped keep the crowds disciplined.
Conclusion with Late Evening Immersion
The Tazias from various panchayats eventually reached the main Karbala ground located at the block headquarters. Devotees continued to arrive there until late into the evening. Following special prayers and Fatiha at the Karbala ground, the ritual of burying (Supurd-e-Khak) the Tazias was completed. This year as well, the conclusion of Muharram in Pirpainti was highly disciplined and peaceful.
On this occasion, local public representatives and senior members of the Muslim community expressed their gratitude for the promptness of the administration and the cooperation of people from all communities. They noted that communal harmony has always prevailed in Pirpainti, and this Muharram observance serves as yet another testament to that bond.
