Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Abducting Student and Gang-Raping Her in Patna; Court Also Imposes ₹30,000 Fine
Muzaffarpur: In a significant judgment in an eight-year-old abduction and gang rape case involving a female student, a Muzaffarpur court has sentenced the main convict, Parmanand Bhagat, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹30,000 on the convict. The verdict is being seen as a major step toward justice for the survivor and her family after a prolonged legal battle.
The judgment was delivered by Judge Noor Sultana, who found Parmanand Bhagat guilty after examining the evidence, witness testimonies, and arguments presented by the prosecution.
