Major Police Action in Mahashay Deodhi; 150 Liters of Semi-Prepared Liquor Destroyed
Nathnagar (Bhagalpur): Reiterating its commitment to strictly enforce the total liquor prohibition in the state, the Nathnagar police have achieved a significant success once again. Acting on secret information on Saturday, the police conducted a raid in the Mahashay Deodhi area and uncovered a large cache of illicit liquor being manufactured. The police acted promptly and destroyed 150 liters of semi-prepared liquor (Jawa Mahua) on the spot.

According to the information received, the police had received a tip-off that liquor smugglers were illegally manufacturing alcohol in certain suspicious areas of Mahashay Deodhi. Upon receiving the information, a special team was formed under the leadership of the Nathnagar Station House Officer (SHO), and a raid was conducted at the location as an immediate follow-up. Sensing the arrival of the police, the smugglers managed to flee the scene.
Scene at the Location
During the raid, the police discovered that large drums filled with a significant quantity of fermented Jawa Mahua were being used to prepare liquor in secluded areas near the riverbank. The police seized 150 liters of the semi-prepared liquor. Since no one was caught at the spot, the police disposed of the liquor by pouring it into pits and destroyed it entirely. Additionally, other equipment used for brewing the liquor was also demolished on the site.
Stern Warning from the Police
Following this action, the Nathnagar police issued a stern warning to liquor traders in the area. The SHO stated, "The police are fully vigilant regarding the prohibition law. Anyone found involved in the business of illegally manufacturing or selling liquor in areas like Mahashay Deodhi will face strict legal action under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act."
He further clarified that these raids will continue unabated. The police have appealed to the local residents to inform them of any suspicious activities in their vicinity. The identity of any person providing such information will be kept strictly confidential.
Increased Security and Patrolling in the Area
Following this action, there has been a stir in the entire Mahashay Deodhi region. The police have increased surveillance in the area. Patrol teams have been instructed to keep a close watch on sensitive spots to ensure that the illegal liquor trade does not resume. Local residents have praised the police's action, stating that illegal liquor was having a detrimental impact on society and the younger generation, making it essential to curb such activities.
