In view of the arrival of lakhs of Kanwariyas (pilgrims), the Sultanganj municipal administration has geared up its efforts. As part of this, the administration launched a major drive on Sunday to clear government land of encroachments in the main market. The effect of this campaign, conducted in the presence of the BDO, CO, and RO, was such that most encroachers began removing their illegal structures and stalls voluntarily, without waiting for administrative enforcement.
