Major Administrative Reshuffle in Bihar; Former DMs Nawal Kishore and Navdeep Shukla Given New Responsibilities
Patna: The Bihar government has implemented a significant overhaul of the state's administrative structure, transferring several IAS officers. Multiple former District Magistrates (DMs) who were awaiting new postings have now been assigned key departmental roles.
Nawal Kishore Chaudhary (Former DM, Bhagalpur): He has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited. Additionally, he will hold the additional charge of Special Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department.
Navdeep Shukla (Former DM, Banka): He has been posted as the Special Secretary in the Department of Youth Employment and Skill Development. He has also been given the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bihar Skill Development Mission.

Extensive Changes: Besides Nawal Kishore Chaudhary and Navdeep Shukla, more than a dozen (12–16) senior and waiting-list IAS officers have received new postings in this reshuffle.
Other Key Appointments: Pawan Kumar Sinha (former DM, Gopalganj) has been appointed as Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department, and Saurabh Jorwal has been given the additional charge of the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited.
The primary objective behind these transfers by the Bihar government is to accelerate development work in the state, particularly in the sectors of skill development, infrastructure, and energy. Assigning roles to officers who were awaiting postings is expected to bring greater efficiency and momentum to departmental functions.
