Darbhanga: A major incident on the Sisauni–Shankar Lohar main road has once again highlighted how unresolved land disputes are obstructing infrastructure development in the district. An overloaded truck carrying sand became stuck on an unfinished stretch of the road, forcing villagers to spend nearly seven hours trying to pull the vehicle out. The incident brought traffic to a complete standstill, leaving long queues of vehicles stranded on both sides of the road.
According to local residents, construction of nearly 25 metres of the road has remained incomplete for a long time due to an ongoing land dispute. Despite repeated requests to the administration and the concerned department, no permanent solution has been found. Villagers alleged that had the dispute been resolved in time and the road completed, such an incident could have been avoided.

On Saturday morning, an overloaded truck carrying sand attempted to cross the unfinished section of the road. As soon as it reached the muddy patch, its rear wheels sank deep into the soft ground.
The driver made several attempts to move the vehicle, but each effort caused the truck to sink even further. Within a short time, traffic came to a halt, and long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road.
