Janata Darbar Held in Kenagar Block: Emphasis on Prompt Disposal of Land Disputes and General Cases; Dozens of Cases Heard
Purnia/Kenagar: As per the directions of the Bihar Government and through the initiative of the district administration, a weekly 'Janata Darbar' was organized on Saturday in the auditorium located at the Kenagar block headquarters. The main objective of this Janata Darbar was to provide transparent and prompt on-the-spot solutions to long-standing land disputes, land demarcation, mutual boundary disputes, and other administrative matters in rural areas. Dozens of complainants who arrived from various villages of the block region presented their respective grievances before the relevant authorities, following which several cases were disposed of on the spot.
Main Objective of Janata Darbar and Administrative Presence
Local administration and revenue department officials were present with full vigilance at this Janata Darbar held in the auditorium of the Kenagar block headquarters. The program was jointly chaired by the Circle Officer (CO) and the Station House Officer (SHO).
Resolution Through Mutual Coordination: The primary objective of the Janata Darbar is for police and administrative officials to jointly hear land-related matters so that minor disputes can be resolved at the local level itself before reaching police stations or courts.
Large Crowds of Complainants: Since morning, long queues of villagers carrying applications regarding their land and other problems were witnessed on the block headquarters premises. Everyone appeared eager to convey their grievances to the concerned authority.
Plurality of Land Dispute Cases and On-the-Spot Disposal
According to the complaints received, the highest number of cases in the Janata Darbar were related to land purchase and sale, demarcation (surveying), removal of encroachments, and mutual partition. In rural areas, tensions often persist between neighbors or relatives regarding the partition of ancestral land.
Immediate Verification of Documents: Officials meticulously examined the land documents, jamabandi receipts, and maps of both parties. In several cases, instructions were issued to the circle surveyor (amin) to measure the land with the consent of both parties.
Immediate Disposal: Several cases involving mutual consent were disposed of on the spot by obtaining the signatures of both parties, bringing relief to them and freeing them from running around courts.
Relief Accruing to the General Public from the Janata Darbar
People from the rural areas of the Kenagar region believe that such events establish direct communication between the general public and administrative offices.
Savings of Time and Money: Earlier, people had to make rounds of the circle office for weeks over minor problems, but with the setting up of the Janata Darbar, solutions have started becoming available under a single roof.
Transparency and Prompt Justice: Having the opportunity to speak openly before officials maintains transparency and ensures timely disposal of cases.
Future Action Plan and Appeal by Officials
During the conclusion of the Janata Darbar, officials appealed to the people of the region to make efforts to resolve land-related matters peacefully. Administrative officials also clarified that cases of a complex nature or those sub judice in court will be resolved under legal procedures, but for general land disputes, the Janata Darbar serves as the finest platform. In the days ahead, instructions have been given to make this system even more effective so that every citizen of Kenagar block can fully benefit from these administrative services.
