Intensified Search for Late Amrita Kumari's Missing Digital Evidence, Intensive Interrogation of BDO and Female Sub-Inspector

The high-profile dowry death case of Amrita Kumari in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district has taken a new and sensational turn. Under the Mithanpur police station area, the police are now frantically searching for two missing smartphones, a tablet, and a laptop belonging to the deceased Amrita Kumari. The police and the victim's family believe that these electronic devices could prove to be the most crucial link in solving this mysterious case.

Hidden Secrets of Torture and Murder in the Missing Devices

According to the First Information Report (FIR) and statements registered at the Mithanpur police station by Rajkumar, the brother of the deceased Amrita, countless pieces of evidence regarding the mental and physical harassment inflicted upon Amrita are present inside these missing digital gadgets. Furthermore, the live access and control of the CCTV cameras installed at their residence near Bela Mor in the Mithanpur area were on Amrita's missing mobile phone.

The family and investigators suspect that the victim's husband and the main accused in the case—the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Jale block, Manoj Kumar—along with his accomplices, deliberately made the mobile phone, tablet, and laptop disappear to destroy or conceal this evidence. If these devices fall into the hands of the police, the real story of the fateful night through chats, call records, locations, and CCTV links will come to light.

Arrest and Face-to-Face Interrogation of the BDO Husband and Female Sub-Inspector

Acting swiftly in this matter, the police initially arrested Jale BDO Manoj Kumar from the Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga border area. During the investigation, it surfaced that BDO Manoj Kumar had been having an illicit affair for a long time with Anu ⤕āĨā¤Žā¤žā¤°āĨ€, a female Police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted in the Begusarai district. Based on this, the police also arrested female SI Anu Kumari from her ancestral village in Sursand, Sitamarhi district.

According to sources, when BDO Manoj Kumar and female SI Anu Kumari were brought face-to-face and interrogated aggressively at the Mithanpur police station, they initially tried to evade several questions and feigned ignorance. However, when the police presented digital evidence including intimate photographs of both, mobile tower locations, and WhatsApp/call chats, they were forced to admit their affair.

It was also revealed that just before coming into police custody, the female SI had attempted to delete several crucial pieces of evidence and chats from her mobile phone. Currently, with the help of the cyber cell and technical experts, the police are engaged in recovering and scanning the data from the seized mobile phones of both individuals.

Background of the Affair, INR 10 Lakh Dowry Demand, and Harassment

According to the police investigation so far and the FIR registered by the victim's brother, Amrita and Manoj met in 2015 during their preparation for the BPSC examination. This friendship turned into love, and they had a court marriage in 2020. Following Manoj's selection for the post of BDO in 2022, their marriage was solemnized again according to social customs in 2023 with the consent of both families.

It is alleged that barely a year after the marriage, BDO Manoj Kumar and other members of his family (father Ganga Sah, mother, brother Aman Kumar, and sister Aarti ⤕āĨā¤Žā¤žā¤°āĨ€) began demanding INR 10 lakh in cash as dowry. When this demand was not fulfilled, Amrita was subjected to harassment. The situation turned grim when Amrita came to know about the illicit relationship between her husband Manoj Kumar and female SI Anu Kumari. When Amrita openly opposed this relationship, the scope of physical abuse and tormenting inside the house escalated.

The Fateful Night and Further Police Action

According to the family, on the night of July 3, Amrita was forcibly fed some poisonous or sedative substance, causing her health to deteriorate. Later, on the late night of July 4, she was admitted in an unconscious state to a private hospital in Muzaffarpur, where she died on the way while being shifted to another hospital as her condition worsened.

The injury marks on Amrita's body and some leaked CCTV footage showing the clear faces of the accused provide solid ground for the police. Following the arrest of the BDO and the female SI, the police are now conducting raids to apprehend other named family members who are still absconding, including father Ganga Sah, mother, brother Aman, and sister Aarti. Police officials stated that after gathering scientific evidence, Call Detail Records (CDRs), and recovering the missing gadgets, the chargesheet in this case will be made airtight to ensure strict punishment for the culprits.
