Grand Three-Day 'Mukka Maar' Women's Self-Defense Training Center Organized; Female Students Learn Unarmed Protection and Aggression Techniques

Bhagalpur, Special Correspondent: A unique and highly significant initiative has been undertaken in Silk City Bhagalpur with the objective of empowering women and young girls physically and mentally, making them capable of handling any emergency situation. Under the joint auspices of the Rotary Club of Vikramshila and the Rotary Club of Vikramshila Pink, a grand inauguration of a three-day 'Mukka Maar' Women's Self-Defense Training Camp took place in the auditorium of the local Sundravati Mahila Mahavidyalaya (SM College). The primary objective of this special camp is to impart unarmed self-defense tactics to college female students and young girls, instill confidence in them, and develop their ability to make prompt and correct decisions in dangerous situations.

Inauguration Ceremony and Lamp Lighting

The program commenced formally through the joint lighting of the lamp by chief guests, accompanied by the national anthem. On this occasion, a welcome song presented by the college's cultural council students captivated all guests and participants present.

Bhagalpur Mayor Dr. Vasundhara Lal graced the inaugural session as the chief guest. In her address, she delivered a message inspiring girls to become fearless, self-reliant, and courageous, while heaping high praise on the organizers' initiative.

Presiding over the event, SM College Principal Prof. Dr. Nisha Jha urged female students not to limit themselves to textbook education alone, but to participate enthusiastically in such practical and life-useful training camps so that they can advance in society with complete dignity and security.

Practical Training by the Red Brigade Trainer Team

Right from the first day of the camp, an expert trainer team led by Usha Vishwakarma—founder and chief trainer of the renowned organization 'Red Brigade', which works for women's safety across the country—began imparting practical training to the students.

Unarmed Self-Defense Techniques: During the training session, students were taught how to defend themselves without any weapons by utilizing everyday items (such as pens, dupattas, bags, etc.) or parts of their bodies (elbows, knees, and punches) if an antisocial element or attacker suddenly ambushed them.

Core Mantra of the 'Mukka Maar' Campaign: Chief trainer Usha Vishwakarma stated that 'Mukka Maar' is not merely a physical reaction, but rather a symbol of standing up mentally against fear. She stated that women must realize their bodies are not weak; what is needed is merely recognizing the strength hidden within themselves and utilizing it at the right time.

Importance of Vigilance, Self-Esteem, and the 'Sixth Sense'

Sessions organized during the camp were not restricted solely to physical arts, but also placed special emphasis on mental alertness and legal rights:

Correct Use of the Sixth Sense: Eminent gynecologist Dr. Varsha Sinha, shedding light on the health, self-esteem, and physical safety of students, stated that women possess a natural 'sixth sense' (intuition). Timely and correct usage of this sixth sense is crucial for sensing any danger or ill intent.

Information on Legal Rights: Advocate Meenakshi Kumari, invited to the camp, informed students about their constitutional and legal rights. She explained under which provisions and sections of Indian law immediate assistance is rendered for women's safety during times of crisis.

Significance of the Project and Participation

Project Chair and District Chair 'Mukka Maar' Chandana Choudhary, who mapped out the framework for this entire event, stated that in contemporary scenarios, knowledge of self-defense is no less important than basic education for women and girls. This training makes them mentally robust so that they can face any adverse circumstance head-on rather than panicking.

Active roles in making the camp a successful endeavor were played by several dignitaries, including Rotary Club President Sudha Pandey, Amit Anand, Bijoy Anand, Neeraj Kumar, Kiran Goswami, Babita Sah, Anjana Prakash, Renu Singh, and Simran Singh. Hundreds of female students present practiced all maneuvers with full enthusiasm and resolved that not only will they keep themselves safe, but they will also inspire other young women to do the same.

This three-day 'Mukka Maar' women's self-defense training camp organized at SM College in Bhagalpur is proving to be a milestone in the direction of girl child empowerment. Such events convey a positive message to society that daughters are no longer helpless or weak, but are becoming entirely capable and self-reliant in ensuring their own safety.
