Grand Preparations for International Day of Yoga in Muzaffarpur; Union Minister Giriraj Singh to Attend
A grand district-level program will be organized in Muzaffarpur on June 21, 2026, to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga. The theme for this year is "Yoga for Healthy Aging," which focuses on a healthy lifestyle and longevity.
Chief Guest: Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, will attend the program as the Chief Guest.
Venue and Time: The main event is being held at the Shaheed Khudiram Bose Stadium. All preparations have been completed by the District Administration and the AYUSH Department.
Significance of the Theme: This year's theme, "Yoga for Healthy Aging," aims to raise awareness about yoga among everyone—from the youth to the elderly—so that they can lead a physically and mentally healthy, balanced, and stress-free life.
Participation: The event will see participation from district administrative officials, public representatives, a large number of students, athletes, social organizations, and common citizens.
Outreach: The event is not limited to the main stadium; mass yoga sessions and "Yoga Samvad" (Yoga Dialogues) are also being organized at all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, district hospitals, medical colleges, Amrit Sarovars, and Anganwadi centers across the district.
Educational Participation: As per the instructions of the Education Department, yoga sessions, as well as speech, drawing, and essay competitions, are being conducted in all government and private schools across the district.
Special Campaigns: Awareness campaigns are also being conducted in prisons, shelter homes, and Mahadalit settlements to take the message of yoga to every individual.
