Four Astute Criminals Arrested in Intoxicated State While Attempting Chain Snatching, Vigilance Increased in the Area
Taking another major step toward tightening law and order in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, the police have achieved significant success. Cracking down on the rising terror of anti-social elements, mischief-makers, and drug addicts in the city's prominent Marine Drive area over the past few days, the police nabbed four astute criminals red-handed on Tuesday night while they were attempting a chain snatching in an intoxicated state. With this action, the police have successfully thwarted a major criminal conspiracy.
Atmosphere of Insecurity Prevalent Among Locals
For some time now, anti-social elements and drug-addicted youth had been gathering on Marine Drive and its surrounding areas as evening fell. Incidents of eve-teasing, misbehavior, and snatching targeting passersby, local citizens out for evening walks, and youngsters were continuously coming to light. These escalating criminal activities created an environment of severe insecurity in the minds of local citizens and the general public. People did not feel safe, after which this grave issue was brought to the notice of the local administration and police.
Special Vigilance Maintained on SSP's Directives
Taking the demands for public safety and the restoration of peace in the area seriously, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra took cognizance of the matter. Following his strict directives, special vigilance and patrolling by the police had been stepped up in the Marine Drive area. This police strategy finally paid off on Tuesday night when the criminals' nefarious designs were foiled.
How the Astute Criminals Were Caught on Tuesday Night
On Tuesday night, when these four astute criminals—completely drenched in intoxication—were targeting a passerby on Marine Drive and attempting to snatch his chain, the alert police team present there took swift action. Interrogation at Sikandarpur Police Station and Further Action
Following their arrest, all four accused were brought to the Sikandarpur police station, where rigorous interrogation is underway under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Rakesh Mohan.
