Foundation Stone Laid for Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in the Presence of MP and MLA; Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary Joins via Online Link

SHIVNARAYANPUR (Bhagalpur): Friday marked a historic day for the Shivnarayanpur railway station, located under the Kahalgaon subdivision of Bhagalpur district. A grand foundation-laying ceremony was held for the modernization and redevelopment of the station under the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.' The local Member of Parliament (MP) and the local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) were present to lay the foundation for this journey of development. Meanwhile, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Choudhary, addressed the program via an online link and termed it a major achievement for the region.

A New Chapter of Development: Modernization of Shivnarayanpur

The ambitious 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme' of the Indian Railways aims to equip the country's stations with world-class amenities. In this sequence, Shivnarayanpur station has also been included. The grand ceremony held on the station premises was attended by hundreds of local residents, railway officials, and political representatives.

The MP and MLA officially inaugurated the redevelopment work by cutting the ribbon and breaking a coconut. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, it was noted that Shivnarayanpur station is a lifeline for the people of this region. There had been a long-standing demand for the expansion of passenger facilities, which is now finally being fulfilled.

Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary’s Address: 'A Resolve for Bihar’s Development'

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary graced the event by joining online. In his address, he praised the transformation of the railways being carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Samrat Choudhary stated, "Strengthening connectivity in Bihar is our priority. The modernization of stations like Shivnarayanpur will not only provide convenience to passengers but will also open new avenues for trade and travel in the region."

He emphasized that the NDA government is committed to bringing the light of development to every corner of Bihar. He congratulated the local representatives and assured them that the state government, in coordination with the railways, would ensure this project is completed in a time-bound manner.

New Amenities at the Station

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the face of Shivnarayanpur station is set to change completely. According to the proposed plans, the following facilities will be developed:

Modern Building: The station building will be given a new look, blending local culture with modern architecture.

Passenger Amenities: The station will be equipped with Wi-Fi, lifts, escalators, and improved waiting halls.

Platform Expansion: In view of the increasing number of passengers, the length and height of the platforms will be increased, and sheds will also be expanded.

Divyangjan-Friendly: The station premises will be made fully accessible for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan).

Parking and Access: Organized parking zones will be created outside the station, and the roads leading to the station will be strengthened.

Focus of Representatives on Regional Development

The MP present at the program stated that this station is important not only for Bhagalpur but also for the surrounding districts. He urged the railway administration to ensure that passenger inconvenience during the construction work is kept to a minimum. Meanwhile, the local MLA mentioned that the long-standing demand of the local people has been met, which will greatly facilitate the movement of goods for farmers and small traders in the surrounding villages.

The program held at Shivnarayanpur station felt no less than a festival. Local folk artists kept the atmosphere vibrant with their performances. The station premises were grandly decorated.
