Police have initiated legal action against Deepak Dixit, also known as Pandit, for allegedly posting objectionable, inflammatory, and threatening content against police officials on social media. Bhojpur Police have confirmed that an FIR is being registered at the Ara Cyber Police Station.
Bhojpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Raj stated that Deepak Dixit alias Pandit allegedly used various social media platforms to publish posts containing abusive, provocative, and threatening remarks directed at police officers. According to the police, the content not only challenged law enforcement authorities but also had the potential to incite the public and disturb law and order.
Police Closely Monitoring Social Media Activity
With social media becoming one of the most influential communication platforms, cases involving its misuse have also increased significantly. Bhojpur Police said that following the Bharat Tiwari encounter, several reactions surfaced online, including certain posts that were considered capable of creating unrest.
According to officials, posts allegedly shared from Deepak Dixit's social media accounts contained threatening language targeting police personnel. After a preliminary review, authorities deemed the content serious enough to warrant legal proceedings.
FIR to Be Filed at Ara Cyber Police Station
SP Raj said that the Ara Cyber Police Station has been directed to initiate legal proceedings. The FIR will be registered based on available digital and technical evidence. Police are also conducting a forensic examination of social media posts, videos, comments, audio clips, and other digital material to establish the facts.
He added that if the investigation reveals the involvement of any other individuals, appropriate legal action will also be taken against them.
Digital Evidence Under Technical Examination
Police officials emphasized that action will not be based solely on screenshots. Instead, all digital evidence is being subjected to detailed technical analysis by cyber experts.
Investigators are examining the origin of the posts, including the devices, IP addresses, and accounts used to upload the content. They are also determining whether the material was intentionally created and circulated to provoke public sentiment or disrupt peace.
Allegations of Attempting to Disturb Law and Order
According to Bhojpur Police, the language used in the social media posts was allegedly capable of provoking people and disturbing public order. Officials believe that timely intervention was necessary to prevent any escalation of tension.
The SP stated that while the police respect every citizen's right to freedom of expression, no platform should be used to incite violence, threaten government officials, or create unrest in society.
Police Tighten Crackdown on Cyber Offences
In recent years, Bihar Police have intensified action against cybercrime and the spread of misleading or inflammatory content on social media. Several individuals have previously faced legal action for circulating fake news, spreading rumors, creating communal or social tension, or threatening public officials online.
Cyber experts point out that every activity on social media leaves a digital footprint, making it possible for investigators to trace the origin and authenticity of online content. Users are therefore advised to exercise caution and understand the legal consequences before posting or sharing material online.
Increased Sensitivity Following the Bharat Tiwari Encounter
The Bharat Tiwari encounter has remained one of the most discussed cases in Bhojpur and across Bihar. The incident generated widespread debate on social media, prompting law enforcement agencies to closely monitor online discussions to prevent misinformation and maintain public order.
Police officials stressed that sharing unverified or provocative content in connection with sensitive cases can have serious legal and social consequences. Strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the law.
Police Appeal for Responsible Use of Social Media
Bhojpur Police have urged citizens to use social media responsibly and avoid sharing unverified information, rumors, or inflammatory content. They have also encouraged people to report any suspicious or objectionable online posts to the police or the cybercrime helpline.
Officials reiterated that the same legal standards applicable in the real world also apply to activities carried out on digital platforms.
