District-Level Committee Chaired by the DDC Selects Beneficiaries Under the Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme
Bhagalpur: The process of selecting beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme, a flagship initiative of the state government aimed at promoting women's economic empowerment and self-reliance, has gained momentum in the district. A meeting of the District-Level Selection Committee, chaired by the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), was held to review applications and finalize the list of eligible beneficiaries.
Officials from various government departments participated in the meeting and held detailed discussions on the implementation of the scheme. After examining the applications, verifying supporting documents, and assessing eligibility based on the prescribed criteria, the committee approved the selection of eligible beneficiaries.
Chairing the meeting, the DDC emphasized that the objective of the Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme is not merely to provide financial assistance but to empower women by making them self-reliant and enabling them to become active contributors to society. He stated that women's empowerment remains one of the government's highest priorities, and several welfare schemes are being implemented to achieve this goal.
The committee reviewed applications received from different blocks across the district. Each application was carefully examined to ensure compliance with the scheme's eligibility requirements. Applicants with complete documentation and who met all eligibility conditions were included in the final selection list, while applications with incomplete documents or those failing to satisfy the required criteria were excluded in accordance with the rules.
Officials informed the committee that the selection process was conducted transparently through both online and offline verification. Reports from the concerned departments, local-level verification, and official records were cross-checked to ensure accuracy and eliminate the possibility of errors.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on ensuring that no deserving woman is deprived of the scheme's benefits. Block Development Officers and other concerned authorities were instructed to identify any eligible applicants who may have been left out so that appropriate action could be taken in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
The DDC directed officials to publish the final list of selected beneficiaries in a transparent manner. He also instructed that all selected women should receive timely information about the benefits available under the scheme, upcoming training programmes, and other support services.
Representatives from the Women and Child Development Department, Rural Development Department, District Industries Centre, Jeevika, Social Welfare Department, and other concerned agencies also shared their suggestions during the meeting. Officials highlighted that effective coordination among departments is essential for the successful implementation of the scheme.
The Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme aims to connect women with self-employment opportunities, skill development programmes, entrepreneurship initiatives, and income-generating activities. Under the scheme, selected beneficiaries receive training, financial assistance, and professional guidance to help them establish and manage their own enterprises.
The committee also decided that selected beneficiaries would be linked with various skill development and training programmes to equip them with modern business techniques, financial management skills, marketing knowledge, and entrepreneurial capabilities. These initiatives are expected to improve their ability to run sustainable businesses successfully.
The DDC observed that the overall development of society and the state is impossible without empowering women. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that more women benefit from welfare programmes and become financially independent. He also instructed officials to implement the scheme efficiently and complete all procedures within the prescribed timelines without any negligence.
The meeting also reviewed the monitoring mechanism for the scheme. Officials were directed to regularly evaluate the assistance provided to beneficiaries and ensure that the scheme's objectives are achieved effectively and that benefits reach the intended recipients.
The district administration believes that the Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme will play a significant role in improving the economic and social status of women in the district. Besides creating employment opportunities, the scheme is expected to boost women's confidence, leadership abilities, and participation in economic activities.
Concluding the meeting, the DDC urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the effective implementation of the scheme. He emphasized that delivering the benefits of government welfare programmes to eligible citizens in a timely manner is one of the administration's primary responsibilities. He expressed confidence that, through coordinated efforts, the Chief Minister's Nari Shakti Scheme would be implemented successfully and would help a larger number of women in the district become financially independent and self-reliant.
