Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Krishna Chandra Gupta, reviewing the gravity of the situation, dispatched a letter to the executive and assistant engineers of National Highways (NH) issuing strict directives to organize traffic flow across the bridge. New Traffic System to Be Implemented on the Bridge: One-Way Entry, Separate Exit
Following a review of the current traffic system, the administration has prioritized safety and convenience, issuing explicit instructions to split traffic movement across the bridge into two distinct sections:
Separately Designated Lanes: To ensure the safe movement of pedestrians and two-wheelers on the bridge, arrangements are being made whereby one side will be designated strictly for incoming vehicles and the other side solely for outgoing transit.
Construction of Barricading and Dividers: Barricades or physical dividers will be installed between the two designated lanes for security purposes, keeping traffic disciplined and preventing reckless attempts to cross paths. This will provide massive convenience—especially for young children traveling to and from school—in crossing the road and clearing traffic jams safely.
Strict Ban on Illegal Parking and Stoppage of Toto-Autos
A major cause of traffic jams on and around Kuan Bridge has been the unauthorized parking of vehicles and picking up or dropping off passengers anywhere on the roadway:
Parking Zones Fixed 100 Feet Away: The administration has instructed that designated stopping spots for autos, tantos, trucks, and other commercial vehicles must be established at a distance of at least 100 feet from both ends of the bridge.
Legal Action Against Rule-Breakers: If any driver parks their vehicle on the road or picks up/drops off passengers in the middle of the street outside of the designated locations, strict legal action will be initiated under the Motor Vehicles Act.
