CPI-ML Observes 'Day of Resistance'; Workers Take to the Streets Against Mob Lynching, Fake Encounters, and 'Bulldozer Raj'
Kahalgaon (Bhagalpur): A one-day 'Day of Resistance' (Pratirodh Diwas) was organized by the CPI-ML at Malkapur Chandni Chowk in Kahalgaon on Saturday. During the event, party workers and leaders expressed their outrage against the rising incidents of mob lynching, alleged fake encounters, and the implementation of 'Bulldozer Raj' in the state. The government's policies were sharply criticized and termed as "anti-democratic and anti-constitutional."
Fierce Stance Against the Chief Minister
Addressing the 'Day of Resistance', CPI-ML District Committee member Randhir Yadav launched a direct attack on the state government, particularly the Chief Minister. He stated that the manner in which law and order is being flouted in Bihar is deeply concerning. Randhir Yadav alleged that a climate of fear is being manufactured in the state in the name of the 'UP Model,' where the homes of the poor, minorities, and Dalits are being demolished by bulldozers without following any legal process. Challenging the Chief Minister, he declared that the public would no longer tolerate these oppressive policies.
'Democracy in Danger'
Speakers from the stage remarked that the police and administration are being used for political vengeance. Expressing concern over the rising incidents of fake encounters, the leaders argued that there is an attempt to establish police supremacy over the judiciary. While sloganeering, the workers asserted that 'Bulldozer Raj' is not only snatching away the homes of the poor but is also crushing the very concept of justice.
Key Demands of the Protest:
Curb Mob Lynching: A high-level investigation should be conducted into the violent incidents that have occurred in various parts of the state in recent times.
Stop Bulldozer Action: The practice of demolishing homes without legal notice or a fair hearing must be stopped immediately.
Judicial Inquiry into Fake Encounters: There should be an impartial judicial inquiry into all cases of alleged police encounters.
Large Number of Supporters Participate
The protest march saw the participation of several other local CPI-ML leaders and hundreds of workers holding banners and placards. The activists raised anti-government slogans at Malkapur Chandni Chowk and pledged that they would continue their fight from the streets to the legislative assembly to protect the weaker sections of society.
At the conclusion of the protest, the leaders warned that if the government does not reform its working style and withdraw its oppressive policies, the party would intensify the movement in the coming days. A police force was deployed in the area throughout the demonstration; however, the event concluded peacefully.
