Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary Announces Major Development Projects at Sultanganj During Shravani Mela Inauguration; International Airport and Two New Townships Planned
Bhagalpur: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary made several significant announcements aimed at accelerating the development of eastern Bihar while inaugurating the Shravani Mela at Sultanganj. Addressing a large gathering of devotees, public representatives, and officials, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to transforming Sultanganj and its surrounding regions into a major hub of religious tourism, infrastructure, and economic development.
Among the key announcements, the Chief Minister said that an international-standard airport would be developed in the Sultanganj region. He also announced plans to establish the Vikramshila Township in Nathnagar and the Ang Township in the Bariarpur–Munger region. Grand Inauguration of the Shravani Mela

Vikramshila Township to Be Developed in Nathnagar
The Chief Minister also announced the development of the Vikramshila Township in Nathnagar.
He said the township would combine the rich historical legacy of the ancient Vikramshila University with modern urban infrastructure. The project is expected to include planned residential areas, wide roads, water supply systems, sewerage networks, parks, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and commercial centers.
According to the government, the objective is to create a well-planned, modern urban township that supports sustainable development.
Ang Township Planned in Bariarpur–Munger Region
Another major announcement was the development of the Ang Township in the Bariarpur–Munger region.
The Chief Minister said the project has been designed with the historical, cultural, and economic significance of the Ang region in mind.
