Buxar: A major step has been taken toward strengthening road connectivity between Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Central Government has given a positive indication regarding the proposed four-lane connectivity corridor from Chausa in Buxar district to Varanasi via Ghazipur. If the project progresses as planned, travel between western Bihar and Varanasi, the cultural and commercial capital of Uttar Pradesh, is expected to become faster, safer, and more convenient.

During the Monsoon Session of Parliament on Thursday, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Jairam Gadkari, while replying to a question raised by Buxar MP Sudhakar Singh in the Lok Sabha, stated that a detailed project plan would be prepared for upgrading National Highway-124C (NH-124C) between Chausa and Ghazipur into a four-lane highway. He also clarified that the Varanasi–Ghazipur section of the highway has already been constructed and is operational as a four-lane road.

Improved Connectivity Between Chausa and Ghazipur

The proposed project is expected to significantly strengthen road infrastructure between Chausa and Ghazipur. At present, increasing traffic volume, the movement of heavy vehicles, and frequent congestion create difficulties for commuters and transport operators.
