Bihar Constable Recruitment Exam: 14 Special Trains to Run on June 16 and 17 for 5.50 Lakh Candidates; Railway Administration on High Alert After Patliputra Ruckus
PATNA: In a major relief to nearly 5.50 lakh candidates appearing for the Bihar Police Prohibition Constable Recruitment Examination, the East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to operate 14 Exam Special Trains on June 16 and 17.
This move comes after candidates, frustrated by the lack of space in regular trains during the first phase of the exam on June 14, created a massive ruckus, indulged in vandalism, and pelted stones at Patna’s Patliputra Junction, leaving several policemen injured. Taking a stern lesson from that chaos, the railway administration is now on high alert and fully prepared.
According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, these special trains aim to ease the rush on regular trains and ensure that students reach their examination centers safely and on time.
🚄 Key Special Trains Running on June 16 (Routes & Schedules)
To ensure candidates reach their destinations ahead of the exam, several trains will depart on the night of June 16:
Patliputra to Kishanganj: Departs at 08:00 PM (via Begusarai, Khagaria, Naugachia, Katihar)
Patna to Narkatiaganj: Departs at 09:00 PM (via Patliputra, Sonpur, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Chakia, Bapudham Motihari, Bettiah)
Patliputra to Araria: Departs at 10:00 PM (via Begusarai, Khagaria, Naugachia, Katihar)
Patliputra to Naugachia: Departs at 11:00 PM (via Begusarai, Khagaria)
Patna to Bhabua Road: Departs at 11:30 PM (via Taregna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Dehri-on-Sone, Sasaram)

To facilitate a smooth journey back home for the students after the conclusion of the exam on June 17, the following trains will operate:
Patna to Gaya: Departs at 07:15 AM
Buxar to Danapur: Departs at 01:30 PM
Buxar to Patna: Departs at 06:00 PM
Kiul to Gaya: Departs at 12:30 PM (via Sheikhpura, Nawada)
Gaya to Kiul: Departs at 05:30 PM (via Nawada, Sheikhpura)
Bakhtiyarpur to Rajgir: Two trips—at 08:00 AM and 03:30 PM (via Biharsharif, Nalanda)
Rajgir to Bakhtiyarpur: Two trips—at 01:00 PM and 06:15 PM
👮 Security Beefed Up Post Patliputra Junction Ruckus
On the night of June 13, constable recruitment aspirants coming from various locations resorted to vandalism and stone-pelting at Patliputra station after failing to board regular trains due to overcrowding. The Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) had a tough time bringing the situation under control.
Heavy Deployment: This time, the railways have deployed a massive number of RPF and GRP personnel at all major stations.
Monitoring by Senior Officials: Senior officers have been stationed on-duty for crowd control at key railway junctions including Patna, Patliputra, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, and Katihar.
Railway's Appeal: The railway administration has urged all candidates to maintain peace, travel with valid tickets, and ignore rumors while utilizing these special train services.
