Bhagwan Vasupujya's Garbh Kalyanak Mahotsav Celebrated with Grandeur

Nathnagar, Bhagalpur: The holy birthplace of the 12th Tirthankara of Jainism, Bhagwan Vasupujya—the Shri Champapur Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra—has been immersed in colors of devotion and faith recently. The grand 'Garbh Kalyanak Mahotsav' (Conception Celebration) of Bhagwan Vasupujya was organized here, in which thousands of devotees from across the country participated. On the occasion of this auspicious festival, the entire Champapur region resonated with chants of "Jai Jinendra" and slogans honoring Bhagwan Vasupujya.

A Convergence of Faith and Devotion

In celebration of the Garbh Kalyanak Mahotsav, the temple premises were beautifully decorated with flowers and lights. From early morning, a steady stream of devotees began arriving at the temple. During the main ritual, the idol of Bhagwan Vasupujya was worshipped and offered prayers with full Vedic rites. The main attraction of the festival was the 'Maha Mastakabhisheka' performed with 108 urns. Devotees felt blessed as they performed the ritual bath of the Lord using gold and silver urns.

'Right Conduct is the Foundation of Life': Adarsh Bhai Changale

Addressing the devotees, keynote speaker Adarsh Bhai Changale, who arrived from Sangli, Maharashtra, explained the importance of discipline and right conduct (Sadachar) in life. He stated, "If you want to refine your life, adopting right conduct is mandatory. Without discipline, an individual's progress is impossible." Describing the grace and vision of the Gurus as symbols of good fortune, he added that dedication and loyalty enable humans to accomplish even the most difficult tasks.

Devotees Gathered from Across the Country

To participate in this divine event, Jain followers not only from Bihar but also from states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Rajasthan reached Bhagalpur. Welcoming the visiting devotees, Sunil Jain, Secretary of the Tirtha Kshetra Managing Committee, said that the teachings of Bhagwan Vasupujya contain the path to the welfare of not just Jainism, but the entire world. He noted that every particle of Champapur is sacred because all five Kalyanak (auspicious life events) of the Tirthankara took place here.

Shanti Dhara and Devotional Hymns

During the program, Vinay Jain recited the Shanti Dhara, which filled the entire premises with positive energy. Devotional singers performed soul-stirring hymns, making the atmosphere entirely spiritual. Devotees received a unique opportunity to seek the infinite grace and blessings of Bhagwan Vasupujya.

Grandeur and Discipline of the Event

The success of this grand event is credited to the hard work of the Managing Committee and local volunteers. Committee members, including Ajit Jain, Ayush Jain, Kamlesh Patni, Amit Barjatya, Adish Jain, Dilip Jain, Rajkumar Jain, Alok Jain, and Ram Jain, played a crucial role in maintaining smooth arrangements. Strict security and cleanliness measures were in place to ensure that devotees arriving from far-off places faced no inconvenience.

Spiritual Significance of Champapur

It is noteworthy that Champapur is an extremely significant Siddha Kshetra for followers of Jainism. The 21-foot-tall standing (Khadgasana) idol of Bhagwan Vasupujya here is a center of attraction worldwide. The ancient Kirti Stambha (Pillar of Glory) and the 24 Tonks reflect its historical and religious grandeur. This place is not only a hub for religious tourism but is also world-renowned for peace and self-reflection.

At the conclusion of the festival, Prasad was distributed among all the devotees. The memories of this Garbh Kalyanak of Bhagwan Vasupujya will remain etched in the minds of the devotees for a long time, inspiring them to continue on the path of truth, non-violence, and right conduct.
