Bhagalpur: Rotary Club Organizes Award Ceremony; Club President Anupama Kumar Honors Members for Excellence in Social Service
Bhagalpur: The 'Rotary Club,' an organization consistently active in the field of social service, organized a grand award distribution ceremony in Bhagalpur. In this dignified program, dedicated individuals who have devoted their lives to serving society and the needy with a selfless spirit were honored. The event was presided over by the Rotary Club President, Anupama Kumar.
Honoring Dedication to Service
The main highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of individuals for their outstanding contributions to social work. Club President Anupama Kumar stated that the core motto of Rotary is "Service Above Self." Lifetime Achievement Award for Dr. Harshvardhan
The most emotional and proud moment of the program arrived when senior physician Dr. Harshvardhan, who has made unparalleled contributions to the fields of medicine and social service for decades, was honored with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award.' He was bestowed this honor for his free medical treatments provided to the poor and underprivileged sections of society and his various social endeavors throughout his long career. All the members present on stage stood up to applaud and greet him.
Dr. Somen and Dr. Soumya Honored as Outstanding Presidents
During the ceremony, young office-bearers who have taken the Rotary Club's methodology to new heights were also honored. Dr. Somen Chatterjee and Dr. Soumya Gupta were awarded as 'Outstanding Presidents' of the Rotary Club.
President Anupama Kumar explained that during their respective tenures, Dr. Somen and Dr. Soumya led several major projects for the club. Whether it was organizing health camps, awareness campaigns regarding education, or work done toward environmental conservation, both of them used their leadership skills not only to strengthen the club but also to enhance the reputation of Rotary in Bhagalpur.
