In the suspicious and tragic death case of 29-year-old Amrita कुमारी, wife of Block Development Officer (BDO) Manoj Kumar posted in the Jale block of Darbhanga district, the police have tightened their grip and arrested the BDO's girlfriend, Anu कुमारी, a female Police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted in the Begusarai district police force. Crucial video evidence and digital proofs have fallen into the hands of the police in this high-profile case, laying bare the layers of this entire incident.

What is the Full Case and How Did the Disclosure Happen?

This entire sequence of events is connected to the Kanhauli locality under the Mithanpur police station area of Muzaffarpur and a residence near Bela Mor. A serious First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged at the Mithanpur police station by Rajkumar, the brother of the deceased Amrita कुमारी and brother-in-law of the BDO. According to the filed complaint, grave allegations have been made against BDO Manoj Kumar, his parents, brother, and sister for constantly harassing Amrita over a demand of INR 10 lakh in cash as dowry and ultimately causing her death.

The family alleges that on the night of July 3, Amrita was forcibly fed some poisonous or sedative substance, which deteriorated her health. Following this, the next night she was taken in an unconscious state to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead. In this case, acting with alacrity, the police had earlier arrested the main accused BDO Manoj Kumar, and now his alleged girlfriend, female SI Anu कुमारी, has also been apprehended from the Sursand police station area of Sitamarhi district.

Video Evidence and Horrific Footage of Assault

During the investigation, extremely vital video evidence has come into the hands of the police, which has completely clarified this matter. In the surfaced video footage, several people are clearly seen ruthlessly assaulting and jostling Amrita कुमारी. This video clip and other CCTV footage have become solid proof of the extent of physical and mental torture inflicted upon Amrita by her in-laws. Following the substantiation of these video evidences, the police took the firm step of arresting the BDO and the female SI.

Illicit Affair and Face-to-Face Interrogation

When BDO Manoj Kumar and female SI Anu कुमारी were brought face-to-face and interrogated aggressively in police custody, they initially tried to mislead the police and feign ignorance. However, when the investigators presented mobile tower locations, WhatsApp chats, call detail records (CDR), and intimate photographs of both before them, they were forced to admit their long-standing illicit affair.

The technical investigation by the police also revealed that just before her arrest, the female SI had made an unsuccessful attempt to delete several important chats and pieces of evidence from her mobile phone. The police are now getting the seized mobile phones of both individuals forensically examined so that the deleted data can be completely recovered.

Missing Digital Evidence and Further Action

The victim's family alleges that two smartphones, a tablet, and a laptop belonging to Amrita have been deliberately made to disappear with the intent of destroying evidence. It is said that these gadgets contained many crucial digital proofs related to Amrita's harassment, threats, and conditions inside the house. Moreover, the live access to the CCTV cameras installed in the house was also on Amrita's same phone. Currently, the police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) are conducting continuous raids to recover these missing devices.
